My son loves these experiments!
My girls were excited as soon as we opened the box!! Lots to look at and play will, we followed the instructions to hatch the creatures, which were very easy for them to do, they loved watching the eggs bubble and hatch and the creatures that came out. After looking through the instruction book for other ideas they wanted to try the bubbles - great success. They have since been using the equipment to do lots of self-lead experiments in the garden, lots of imagination used. The tools are very robust, colourful, and fun. They are keen to do the other experiments in the book we just need to do a bit of shopping first. We will defiantly be collecting some of the other creatures in the set. I think the best thing about this set is how it sparked such an interest for my girls, they love using the tools to do their experiments.
The children were really excited to get started as soon as they could when this great little Science kit arrived. There are so many fabulous experiments in the kit, from separating the sediments in soil using the child friendly centrifugation equipment to hatching eggs to reveal their beaker creature. The instructions are really well laid out and easy to follow using their step by step guide. gives good step by step instructions to follow for children. My daughter couldn't wait to get started! The only downside was that we had to go out and buy most of the ingredients to carry out the experiments and finding B50 capsules was a challenge. The activities use things like cornflour, golden syrup, vinegar, PVA glue and contact lens solution. We have done half of the experiments so far and as expected the slime making activity was a great hit! It kept the children entertained for a long time and we were able to talk about the properties of different substances so it felt quite educational too.
This science experiment set is packed full of lab ideas. The booklet gives good step by step instructions to follow for children. My daughter couldn't wait to get started! It comes with two surprise monsters which were fun to watch hatch. One thing to keep in mind is that in order to carry out any experiments there is a bit of a shopping list to get first. But can provide hours of interactive fun. Great if your home schooling too.
Pros - My little one loved this. He wanted to do the experiments straight away before even reading the instructions! As soon as he knew there were monsters inside the reactor pods he was itching to get them out. The whisk is great for his motor skills and the interchangeable heads make it a lot of fun. I also love that the monsters come in a little pod (see pics) so that they are protected from the reactor pod material. Cons - Whilst the instructions do include some great recipes for slime and different mixes they mostly include ingredients which are a little tricky to source. For me this set would be well worth an extra £5 or so if it included some sachets of ingredients to use. We will be buying more reactor pods instead to repeat our 'experiments' and to collect more monsters!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this kit for my 6 year old grandson for his birthday. The kit contained two reactor pods, one of which did not foam or basically do anything as it dissolved in water as the directions stated. The kit has "tools" to do experiments but doesn't include any materials to do so. I was hoping for more hands on activities actually in the kit. However, there is a booklet with other experiments that can be done with additional materials that must be purchased. Honestly, I wouldn't buy it again. Quite disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product seems like a home run for kids (monsters, glowing, science, messy) but the pods did not work. In order for the blacklight to work, you have to be completely in the dark, and you can't see anything. We followed the directions, and my son ended up having to break the pod open with his hands. It didn't fizz at all and just made a huge mess. This was a birthday present for him and it was very disappointing.

Not worth it. At all. If you buy it, make sure to buy the long list of ingredients you'll need to do the experiments.
