I'm always looking for fun activities that challenge the kids' minds. This is definitely one of them. The track pieces have a sticky backing that you peel off so that you can stick the pieces to a window (or smooth wall). Our sliding glass door is perfect for this! When the stickiness starts to wear off, we wipe it with a damp cloth and the pieces are good as new. My kids like to lay the pieces out on the table to first see what their track might look like, and then they try it on the door to see if it will work. I really like that this set comes with a booklet of challenge ideas to get the creativity started. Overall, this is a great set to have kids learn without them knowing they're learning. Parenting win.
We have a 4-1/2 boy in the house.. very short attention span. Mom's concern is always, can I get it out, play for a bit, and get it put away again without too much hassle. This little box of Runners and Balls is super simple to deploy, takes a good amount of time to 'play' while setting it up, experimenting different angles and all that.. Mom is happy! The boy here gets frustrated quickly, and there is a bit of a learning curve sticking all the Runner bits to the walls and doors.. if the physics are overwhelming for the setup, the marble crashes off the track.. he doesn't like that :-) but he also learns to lineup the bits better, etc.. Win Win. The runner bits are adhesive.. the kind that washes clean when full of lint.. it rejuvenates to be sticky again. Comes with three plastic marbles... not deburred perfectly but they roll OK. Overall a winner here... cheers!
This Learning Resources STEM Explorers marble runners educational toy if lots of fun. It definitely teaches many STEM concepts. There is a booklet of different challenges to try and my 17 yr old has been having fun doing them. I can't wait for my 5 yr old grandson to come over and work on them. We tried it on our semi gloss wall and the pieces wouldn't stay on. We moved it to a coated closet door and they stay great. Had to clean them a couple times in between as they fell onto the carpet and got some fuzzies on them. But a quick wipe with a baby wipe and they were great again. They are lightweight foam pieces with a plastic guard on the front to keep ball on the track.
My son loves marbles and mazes and so thought this would be really cool. When we first opened it he playing forever trying to figure it out. We made sure to clean the window first. After he played and played they stopped sticking so was a little frustrated with that but after we wiped the sticky pad with a baby wipe they started sticking again. Endless mazes you can creat and my son so far has been loving it. I deducted a star because I wish there were more pieces and the marble is hard to get out without removing the piece itself.
This thing is not something that will last longer than one of two uses. It is made of foam and cheap adhesive. My kids stuck the pieces to the window to play with the marble runner, which was a lot of fun for about 20 minutes. They liked figuring out ways to put the pieces so that the marbles would run smoothly from one part to another. The marbles are absolutely tiny, and they're a choking hazard for small children that put things in their mouths. This is unsafe to use with any child of any age that likes to put things in their mouth. It can even get stuck up the nose or in the ear, the marbles are that small. My kids were able to use the marble runner a total of one time. The adhesive on the backs of the pieces lost their stickiness very quickly. It is fun, but it doesn't last.
It advertises that it sticks to walls and doors but that's not true. It sticks perfect on glass but not on the wall or wooden doors. When you remove the plastic film off the tracks do not loose them as you need to cover them back up when done. You can wipe them clean but it's a hassle if you leave them in the open. It does have an endless opportunities to build the tracks but I can't have my son stuck to a window while playing. I wish the tape will glue on most surfaces as advertised.
i was really looking forward to this as we have quite a few Learning Resources kits for our Toddler. This one was a total bust. It is made of cheap foam and the sticky back does not stay up for anything. we wasted 3 pieces trying to attch them to our wall before moving the rest to our back glass door. They are impossible to rearrange after you place ment making them worthless to try the different combinations as suggested.
The first thing is these have a clear film on the back of them that is a hassle to get off of them and I have nails. The concept is neat my 3, 8 and 11 year old love marble mazes. This did not stick well yo my refrigerator but worked well on the door window. We made sure to wipe down and dry both surfaces first. The instructions say that when they lose their adhesion to wipe them with a damp cloth. Hopefully they will last a while. It comes with 10 challenges to try or make your own. My kids like making their own. After removing a few of them and replacing them a few time some of them had already started falling with the first play. Wiping them down did work. However I would not recommend this for someone who gets frustrated easily. I'm going ro honest here and after fight to peal the backs off and than watching them start to fall off the window after only 15 minutes of play I started to become a little frustrated myself as well as the kids. Again it's a neat concept and I enjoyed watching my children figure out some mazes on their own. But I don't see us bringing this out often.
I wanted to like this product but I'm honestly disappointed. My child got one use out of it before the maze pieces stopped sticking. They come with an adhesive on the back and it lost it's stickiness after one time of playing with it. The concept it nice, but I just don't think it lives up to what it's supposed to do.
Not as expected. The product is super light weight but the sticky side is so weak that cant even hold it in place to a refrigerator door to play accordantly. The balls are so small and almost no fun at all. My child played one night for maybe 20 min and got frustrated because the pieces would not stop from falling apart and on the ground. Def not worthy of time and money. I only kept it bc i thought to “fix” it buying some magnetics to glue it on the back to somehow make it work and fun. Still didnt have time to “fix” it so it is still just seating in some shelf for idk how long for someday i fix it.
