After seeing a very cool tiktok that showed how an experienced hobbyist created a minifigure display using a ton of plates, I thought I'd give it a go! This set made it very easy. (I bought a bunch of 1x2 clear pick-a-bricks to attach the figures legs to the plates)
Perfect purchase for my 9 yr old daughter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter was so excited when she saw how many Lego Dot tiles there were to create with. The examples provided in the instructions were easy to follow and gave same great ideas for how my daughter could use the tiles. Improvements she came up with included glitter and metallic tiles. Maybe having some example emojis that could be done with the tiles as well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lego dots big message board can be a message board square or rectangle but I wouldn't call it big. You really can't fit too many words. My 8 year old had fun designing a message but my 11 year old couldn't fit her name and wanted it to be at least 1/2 bigger again. More colours or patterned dots would be good to complete a nice background but we did use dots we already had to add to make it more fun. The concept of a board to make a name plate for a bedroom or sign is great but the background pieces needed to be bigger.
This is a lovely set but building is hampered by organisational issues. It could do with a colour coded tray like some of the other sets. My 5 year old grandson was easily able to build on his own but I needed may freezer bags to organise the pieces.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We found lego dots to be a lot of fun for the whole family. We all took turns making designs with the 12 and 13 year old being the most creative. After playing with our sample pack, we had to go buy more at the shops, because it became addictive. It's relaxing and I would compare it to colouring or doing a puzzle book.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 11yr old enjoyed making it, but found it was a bit thin width wise and would be better if it had a couple more rows of width. He enjoyed making a sign but it was extremely fiddley and I see him just setting it up on the wall and leaving it. Super fun concept though. I think I'll see if he wants to use his left over bits in his large square base plates he has
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good fun, a bit too fiddly for a 6 year old. If your going to use plastic bags, why not make them resealable and a bit more durable so they don't end up in landfill, let's hope people send it back to be recycled. I would think a world renowned business like this would be more aware of this.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Older children were not interested. My almost 7 year was entertained for a while. I bought a plastic segmented box for the pieces to be kept neat and tidy. I now have Lego dots all over the house. If you're ok with mess, than these will be fun for your child.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We daughters really enjoyed this, you can make a design and it doesn't matter if you stuff it up, you just amend and keep going. It's definitely a mess maker though, if you got the side of the container you're storing the dotz in they spread far and wide but they don't hurt to step on which is a big win.
