As per photo is a nice little helmet, I found it on the small side compared to the others.couple of hours build, Now the yellow pipes, pain in the rear,my advice on the fitting is once built as per page 87 skip page 88 goto page 89 and fit the front to the helmet then complete page 90, then go back to page 88 to fit the yellow pipes to rear a lot easier. If you don't then the pipes just spring the front build off every time, doing this way the front is supported in place while you fit the rear and no springing off.
This set is a great build with some brilliant building techniques. Not to many stickers which is always a bonus. I would definitely recommend this set looks great on display just a shame I'm running out of space to display lol.
I didn't expect some good set from it, to be honest I bought it because I got the new X-Wing Fighter and I thought those would look good together. But I was pleasantly surprised when i was building it. It looks really good by itself and I had a fun time. All those printed pieces make its value even higher. Have fun guys :)
I wasn't too sure about getting this set due to the negative comments but I'm so glad I did! The build was really fun and doesn't take too long, I didn't have any issues with the yellow strips, think I got it sorted in a couple of goes and it looks amazing in person! Just could do without having to line up the stickers, never seem to get them perfect :(
Great display piece. I would recommend to any fan of Star Wars
Loved building this piece! Loved the detail all around. This will go well along side Luke's lightsaber and xwing fighter!! Definitely worth the purchase. When is C3P0 helmet coming out? Definitely excited for that!
1st helmet Ive built, pleasantly surprised looks amazing. Enjoyable 1 evening build, I found 2 or 3 challenging moments during build. Just follow instructions closely, pre bending the yellow strips would have prob been a good idea
According to the manual this was Lego's first open helmet. I had some concerns that the design would be compromised due to this but I believe that the designers have done a good job here and it fits the series really well. The build was fun and enjoyable and followed the pattern of all the others (Dark Trooper being the exception) - base, stand, structure and then helmet. A lot of the negative reviews discuss the yellow rods and the difficulty in placing them. Mine went on at the first attempt, convincing me that I had not done them correctly, so I repeated the process and again they went straight on? Perhaps I have a different batch or just got lucky - I don't know but I didn't experience any building issues and my final piece is very stable. Perhaps due to the negative reviews this item can be found at very competitive prices and offers great value for money. So why four stars? - Stickers! I'm generally OK with stickers up to a price point and this would normally fall within that price point but some of these stickers are tricky to place. A 90 degree contoured circle that meets another circle both need stickers and they need to be aligned. Not easy and especially obvious when there are so many high quality printed pieces included. Regardless, I would still recommend this item. For those who display their Lego; Darth Vader, Red 5 and the Tie Fighter helmets can just about fit on a well known display cabinet shelf with the trench run diorama in the foreground.
The bits Don't line up the way they are ment to in bag 1 steps 22-25 and have restarted like 10 time and everytime it is the same issue 1 bit is too long and the other is not tall enough
Seller shipped order not packaged at all. No box no mailer. Shipping labels on product packaging itself (it is a collectible) and box is damaged in multiple areas. Never seen an item shipped as is with no protection around it especially for the cost of the product.
