This lantern will come in handy during our many power outages. It is small but provides a lot of light. It bests holding a flashlight for a long time. The main problem was when I ordered it, I knew it was battery operated but it didn't mention what size batteries it would need. So stock up on D batteries if you get one!!

These are AMAZINGLY bright little lanterns!!! I purchased the battery powered version rather than those that have to be charged, based somewhat on issues brought up in reviews regarding the USB port, but more so because I'm old school and batteries are going to save the day when the power goes out in the dead of our Northeast Winter when it's dark at 3:30 in the afternoon. They arrived exactly on the date estimated, packaged perfectly. They are lightweight but rugged little units. The swing handle makes it easy to carry and the recessed hook on the bottom of the lantern is a brilliant addition - making the lantern capable of being suspended to cast light over an area. The Energizer D size batteries arrived today so I've only tested them at the kitchen table and WOWZERS 1000 lumens are BRIGHT!! Seriously - DON'T look directly at the light!! I'm grateful the designers built in a simple finger -powered dimming feature and a strobe! I intended them for emergency lighting but now I can count at least half a dozen other scenarios where they will come in very handy indoors and out. 5 stars, recommend highly, considering purchasing another pair!

So bright- great light various ways that it lights- great to have when powerful fails and to insure the light all you need is a supply of D batteries- no worries regarding having to recharge when you have no electricity or a way to recharge!

I bought this as a gift, it is beyond expectations. The lantern is very bright, the size is just right. Can be used for camping , also can take the place of a flashlight. 5 stars, highly recommend. Worth the money.

The lantern was so bright where it was placed it lit up a very large area. It was so easy to make my way around without having to carry a flashlight. I would definitely recommend this product. Thank you Walmart for getting it there in a day and half after the hurricane. I was so pleased with the product and your service, you helped me send needed things to my family.

I just relocated to the south, and apparently this little town/region has a lot of power outages. After a lot of research, and a power outage after a storm 2 weeks ago, I decided to buy this lantern. Best decision ever! I just received my lantern yesterday, and after some recent early morning severe thunderstorms which kicked off the power AGAIN, I'm using it today! This little thing is a powerhouse! I was skeptical because of the size, but it illuminates my entire room! It's a small lantern, but it's sturdy and bright. I'm going to order two more today. We're in the typical southern summer weather/ hurricane season, and I definitely want this lantern in my preparation arsenal for any future power outages.

These are great little camping lanterns. They have several settings to make it brighter or even a blinking setting. There is also a hook on the bottom to flip upside down if you need to hang that way too in a camper or tent. Very good purchase. So glad I went with this one.

One of these lanterns will light up a large living room for 200 hours on low. (There are three settings: high, low, and emergency blinking.) They are made of tough, durable waterproof materials and operate on only 3 D batteries. They are strong yet lightweight for hanging or carrying. I honestly see no reason these lanterns won't last a lifetime. (I've dropped mine on the concrete garage floor from a high shelf and not so much as a dent.) These lanterns are a little more expensive, but absolutely worth it. I feel safer and more prepared for anything with these!

Light is very bright. Works better than I expected. You can remove the shade and hang it up as a work light. Perfect for when we lose power in my office. Be careful not to drop, though. Plastic shade would not be able to withstand a drop to the floor.

Bought this for car camping. It is really bright on full power. There are two things that would be really nice. First is that it would dim some more for a night light and second, that it remembered the intensity setting from its last use. On a more practical matter, I wish there was a way to lock the power button like I can on my Black Diamond headlight. I'm afraid that something will press against the button and turn it on in the pack. The only solution I can think of is to remove the batteries before packing it, making room in my pack for 3 D cell batteries, then trying to find them in my pack once at camp, and finally reinstalling them, all possibly in the dark. I haven't had it long enought to speak about battery life, but I am thinking about leaving the diffuser behind for the next camping trip and using the bottom clip to hang it up for area light. At least that will save space in my pack for the batteries.
