LG 8,000 BTU 340 Sq ft Window Air Conditioner with Remote Control, White, LW8016ER

8000 BTUs is perfect for my huge bedroom. Replaced 5000 BTU unit which couldn't keep up with 90 degree sunny days. Quiet, relatively speaking.Lighter weight than the 10K monster I have in my open concept downstairs. In my experience, LG products are impressive performers at reasonable price point. Highly recommended.

This is our 2nd LG. The first one lasted at least 10 years. We looked online and found it. We arranged for free store pick up after reading other reviews as to condition units arrived in when delivered to your home. Good advice as our unit was in perfect condition. Unit is quiet and performing great.

works great and is very quiet. the setup instructions were pretty confusing in some places, and the illustrations were so small they were of no help. I ended up getting the manual online and then blowing up the pix so I could what they were talking about. the unit itself is first rate, based on my 12 hours of use so far.

I had to replace one. This one is so quiet I sometimes forget its on except I am way comfortable . The old one had to stay set on 70 for any level of comfort. This one at 76 for same result. I am in Georgia and I'm not saying its hot but two hobbits just threw a ring out in my yard. This jewel keeps half of my 1600 square foot house super cool all day with no issues at all. Love it. Buying a smaller one of the same brand for the back of the house today.

Just purchased my new airconditioner. We love it. It works excellent compared to the 3 airconditioners we originally had in the house. It cools our home fast and efficient. We have had well over 100 degree weather and inside we have stayed so cool we had to shut it off for awhile. I would definitely recommend this airconditioner.

great price, slight hum, but quiet, bad design when trying to screw side blinds to side of air conditioner, holes are there and it lines up with blind, but its on the inside fold of the blind to screw it with screw, also fortunately I had extra longer same size screws and used mine, what they provided was to short........that was my only troubleshoot, once in and powered up, works like a charm. wife is happy

There is a medium pitch howl noticeable at even low speed that increases in pitch and volume as the speed increases. That said, it is still quieter than most medium size ACs we have owned. Compared to the LW1211ER, it has more noise. The unit was installed by my wife and me with only some interpretation on pictures / hardware needed. Rapidly cools a 12X24 area. We paid around $360; worth the money. note: ...to clean the air filter, Pull the gray plastic strip slightly towards yourself and lift upward.

I initially bought an 8K BTU Haier Serenity Series in an effort to find the quietest window a/c possible. Sound was the most important issue for me. Turned out the Haier was defective and returned for a refund. Read some reviews on this LG and decided to try it out. It is quiet and cold. I can't say for certain if its the quietest, but I can say I'M SATISFIED. Its quiet enough.

Works great except that it's never gotten all the way down to 60. Typically it keeps the room about 63 according to my thermometers. I mounted it at a slightly higher angle downward so the water would't splash onto the fan ring which would have driven me nuts, but I don't think that's the issue, the compressor stops when it "thinks" it's at 60 but it's not. It pretty much stops compressing when the room gets to about 63. Still far better than the other one I had from GE which would only get to 66 then shoot down to 62 and slowly warm back up. The service tech said that was within specs. Unreal! PS: My room is under the sq ft of what the unit is supposed to cool with no interference from anything.

I love the AC unit. There is a little drain plug that lets water run out where you want it. The only two problems I have had so far are that it had multiple ascetic damages when it arrived. The top and right side were dented and the outdoor heat exchanger grill had minor imperfections. I don't think these are huge deals if you are using the unit on a second floor but I think it takes away from how good it looks without damage if someone sees it up close. Also, a lot of little flys were inside the outdoor part after the first night. I don't know if this is normal for window AC units. I think they need to package this better for how much it weighs. The delivery driver left it on its side because it is honestly too much weight for one person to handle safely.
