Lodge Cast Iron Skillet: Unmatched Quality and Inc

Chris January 19, 2026

The Lodge pre-seasoned cast iron skillet stands out for its exceptional build quality, featuring thick walls that deliver superior heat retention and even distribution, perfect for searing steaks, frying bacon and eggs, or baking cornbread with a crispy crust. Its rugged surface grips food for excellent browning while building a natural nonstick patina over time with minimal maintenance—just hand wash, dry, and oil occasionally.

A fantastic American made iron skillet!

Frederick M December 28, 2018

A fantastic, American-made, heirloom-quality skillet at a great price. Love it so much I bought a second one with the Boy Scouts of America commemorative logo for my adult son the Eagle Scout. You really can't go wrong with this seriously heavy ironware. Used it right out of the package for a big mess of scrambled eggs to feed the crew. Just a little 'stick' first go-round (hey, it's eggs) which cleaned right up with water. Then rubbed with oil and put away for next time, and it will just keep getting better.

Must have in kitchen

Nina N June 10, 2021

Finally got myself a Lodge cast iron pan for quite sometime! I wish I have purchased this much sooner. It has been well to me so far. It's became non-stick very quickly after a few uses. The size is perfect and well built. I would recommend having this in your kitchen.

Great

Great cast iron pan. Have 3 different sizes now - all Lodge. I did make the mistake of making an orange juice based sauce in it though. Too acidic and wrecked the pan's seasoning. Re-seasoned with grape seed oil which I changed to from canola. Walmart has a good price on that too.

Perfect cast iron pan

Lovely addition to my kitchen!

Heather N December 29, 2018

I was afraid to get cast iron as I wasn't sure how to season it and clean it. Pre-seasoned was perfect and there was an article in one of my favorite magazines about cleaning cast iron.

Just Perfect!

This cast iron pan is very versatile. Once adequately seasoned, it can be used in a multitude of ways. I baked skillet bread the same day I took it out of the box!

Good but a bit heavy for me.

Ducko October 22, 2021

I was impressed with this cast iron skillet. The rise in the center was only about 1mm and when I tapped it it rang good, no cracks. I really wanted to love this pan and realized I needed to develop a relationship with it. Read how others thought they preferred a smooth finish so I did sand it smooth before seasoning. I did season it four times with flax seed oil in the oven but when I went to use it realized that I needed to be more careful not to get it too hot. When I learned how to use it it worked well and did not stick. I loved that it was big, the usable flat area a full 10" and nice and deep. However I have to accept that in my 70's, with a poor back, it is too heavy to handle but have been storing it in the oven which helps, I have not found the handles too hot without mitts as it seems if you get the handles too hot, the pan is too hot to work well. Only complaint is the weight but know that is the reality of cast iron.

Just like the old fashioned iron skilllet

Bridget H July 9, 2017

I bought this for a gift for granddaughter who was searching for one and only one I could find in catalog of old country items was very expensive compared to this one. She has not picked it up yet but it is very heavy. Nice that it is pre seasoned. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
