Love that it keeps me from needing to use a towel or oven mitt to move it
Worked really good with my cast iron fry pans
Very good and affordable protective handle.
Love that it comes in red (my fave color) and it keeps your hand from getting burnt in the cooking process. That being said, it doesn't fit the handle that well and is more of a pain when picking up the pan to turn it. My trusty ol oven mitt did a far better job. It's a good idea, but I wouldn't waste my money for this product.
It has a tendency to slide around on every cast iron skillet I own. The shape should be narrower and straighter so it can mold to the handle, especially when heated. You at least don't need grandma's knitted handles that get discusting after a while.
Silicone handle too big for my skillet
waste of money . If you want to use it like oven gloves for few seconds to shift hot itmes , its ok . I thought to use it for my iron pan as we make wheat bread daily . It takes around 15 to min on gas top to make few. The silicon handle gets too hot after 5 mins . And constantly removing and putting it in, is a task itself . I would prefer a wooden handle to this one.
I got this hot handle holder thinking that it would be something that would allow me to hold the hot handle of the skillet. It fits the skillet fine but it is still hot enough that it requires me to use a potholder. I will not be putting this on my skillet when I cook next time. Disappointed.
Does not fit the skillet! Using it on just the handle caused me to be burnt! I kept the other one as I bought the Ill fitting extra handle grip and I could lift the pan with both of these on even though Ill fitting Disappointed that an item is advertised to fit a previously purchased item, showing size/dimensions and it is not true to size! Lodge is a USA company from what I read and this silicone product comes from China so is that the problem? Demo not recommend as it is Ill fitting!
Proceed with caution. I couldn't wait to use my cast iron skillet handle holder. Got out my trusty 10 inch skillet and loved the feel on the handle while I was using it on the stove. Then I had to drain the skillet. I had checked it out because when I first put it on it wasn't very tight. Then I noticed it had ridges on the inside. When it comes to cast iron nobody knows it better than Lodge. I assumed it would heat up while I was using it on the stove, then it would grip the handle and I could move it from the stove to the kitchen sink using the skillet handle. Well, maybe that wasn't exactly what they planned. Luckily as it began to slip off the handle I was still close enough to the stove to swing around and put it down. It won't even stay on if you hold the silicone skillet handle with a silicone cooking glove. That puppy is going to come off. I wound up doing what I have always done. First I tossed the handle cover on the counter. I got out my silicone cooking gloves, put one the bare handle, carried the skillet to the sink, used the other glove to balance the side of the skillet. So far I haven't retrieved the handle cover yet. I will because it works good while you are cooking but it's not meant for carrying.
