Lodge Cast Iron 43.5" Camp Tripod

My husband is new to outdoor cooking so I purchased this 43.5 inch tripod for him. He enjoys using it out in the backyard with a Dutch oven. The tripod is very heavy duty and sets up very easily. Nothing to unscrew. It is already assembled. It has no problem, holding a cast-iron Dutch oven and should last for many years. The only thing to note is that it is 43 inches tall so it is intended for use over a fire that is low to the ground. Lodge makes a taller 60 inch version if a higher application is needed. We also have the 60 inch version that unscrews and breaks down smaller for taking on our camping trips.

This was a gift. The recipient was very excited. He has used it multiple times to create delicious campfire meals. It takes campfire cooking to the next level. I want one now too.

I give this a five! Works great but I do recommend the longer legs. We put ours on the stone of the fire pit to give it a bit more height. We used this with the dutch oven I bought from you, also a great product, and cooked up a very delicious dinner of soup and dumplings.

Although I purchased the tripod thinking it was taller, it will work well at our rustic camp away from home. I will use it for my cast iron Dutch Oven - the only way to cook a real meal. Looks very sturdy. Thanks for shipping it so quickly.

Used tripod to hold cast iron kettle, placed wood around kettle and planted multicolored marigolds to give suggestion of fire. Looks very nice, am pleased with product
