Wonderful grease gun for greasing the fifth wheel in our Ram 2500 to pull our Rv. Its size works well in tight spaces and the extra flex hose really helps.
Wanted to grease my own ball joints, ujoints and other greaseable joints on my truck. Bought this and the grease to go with it. Everything worked great! Stopped the squeaking. Use this Everytime I do an oil change.
This grease gun worked great! You won't find a better price anywhere on a grease gun with a pistol grip and that comes with both rigid and flexible hoses. The others who bought this gun and gave it poor reviews likely did not use it properly. You MUST loosen the coupling joint on the end of the gun before you use it. I used a couple of wrenches to loosen it up (it comes very tight from the factory), then tightened it back up until it was just finger-tight and it worked perfectly!! No problem removing it from the zerk whatsoever!
Thanks to the reviewer who recommended loosening the coupler before use. This was very helpful and influenced my decision to buy. It works perfectly for what we need it for, which is keeping our mower fittings greased. I loaded the gun and got it to work perfectly all by myself, and I'm a girl. ;)
I like it because it bigger than the one I had and I has the hose that helps get in tight situations
Read all reviews before purchasing, so I bit the bullet since this came with the flex hose for the same price as most others with a rigid fitting. Everything worked great and had no problem removing from zerk fittings. But the plunger separated from the internal piston about 4 zerks into my lawn mower greasing and would no longer push the grease through the gun. Thought it was air, but the plunger could move all the way to the top of the gun when I knew I had a nearly full tube in it. Not bad for the price considering the flex hose, and I could very well have just gotten a dud, but now I have a broken gun with nearly an entire tube of grease inside that I can't use and I'm not too happy about that.
This grease gun is horrible. Locked on to my zero fitting, would not release no matter what, as far as using tools to try to get the jaws to release. It destroyed the fitting and had to replace it. Absolutely terrible. I bought a much better one and have had no problems. This thing should not be sold.
Wish I had read the previous review before buying. I bought this to grease the bearings on my trailer and long story short it will not disconnect from my bearing buddy fittings. Ended up breaking my bearing buddy (which cost more than this gun) trying to pull the thing off. Don't buy it.
Wish I had heeded some of the negative reviews instead of thinking "I can make it work." Despite the positive tips provided in a couple reviews, this gun is a waste of money. The inside mechanism is very, very, very poor. After loading it, and following the instructions and some tips posted here, I did manage to get about 4 or 5 powerful squirts into the zerk fittings I was greasing. Even saw the old grease being forced out. Then, all of sudden, NOTHING! No pressure inside the gun what-so-ever. Tried 3 different grease tubes, all the operating tips I could I find - nada. Maybe I just got a "Lemon" but, sorry folks, after examining the inside mechanism, and trying everything I could, I cannot recommend this particular product to anyone. When I'm dealing the already messy nature of lubricants, I need something that will work EVERY time and not waste MY time.
Ok, I went thru 2 of these today. Both created hairline fractures while tightening the hose into the gun female slot. There are no instructions on how far to tighten the hose into the gun, and if do more then a few turns, it cracks the casing. Happened on the first one, so i thought maybe its just a bad one. I returned and got another. Same thing. Now I have to go to walmart yet again to return the 2nd one.
