Mace Brand Bear Pepper Mace - Green

I jog in an area in which an occasional bear is present. The product is small and light enough to jog with the bear spray in my jogging vest. Hopefully, I never have to use it on an actual bear. However, the product worked very well when I tested it.

This is a must have if your planning a trip to grizzly country. I always carry it with me. Thankfully I have never had to use it on a bear, but I have discharged it to test it out. It produces a steady fog at an impressive distance.

Hope we never have to use it - but Mace brand, made in Ohio, does the trick if ever the need arises. We have several bears that frequent our woods in northern Maine and keeping "bear spray" handy is great insurance.

With about 10,000 black bears in upper Michigan, I will feel more confident carrying this with me through the trails. I just wish I could find the date written on it though because I read somewhere they are best for three years from manufacture.

This is a replacement for one that expired. This new one expires 10/2024 so I'll get 3 yrs 3 months of potential use from it.

I don't have a clue as to how well this product works. I will tell all next time I run into a bear. I have had four times this would have been helpful. Time will tell.

The Walmart product page says this bear spray has a range of 35 feet. The product information inside the box says this bear spray has a range of 20 feet. When I am trying to protect myself from a bear, there is an awful big difference between 35 feet and 20 feet.

Website says in one place, it empties in 9 seconds, in another 6 seconds. Site says it has 2%Capsaican, reaches 35 feet, can is 12.5 inches tall. I got a can 8 inches tall with 1.34%Capsaicin, says it reaches 20 feet, says empties in 9 seconds.
