Makes a tasty addition to any meal, plus it's very healthy.
love the taste...
This product was recommended by my dietician nutritionist, so I think it should be quite good.
I have tried kelp flakes, powder, and these granules. These granules are by far the most convenient and least obtrusive way of adding kelp to your diet. If you do not like the taste of kelp (which I do not), but want the benefits of the added iodine naturally to your diet, this is the best way I have found. There is a problem with evenly distributing the powder or flakes in your food without getting a pronounced flavor of kelp. I only took one point off in quality because you do get the occasional "crunch" -- you know the kind of crunch that makes you think "Was that my food, or my tooth?" Since the granules are quite small, they would unlikely cause harm to your teeth, just have the unsettling crunch. I also wish that in addition to or instead of, putting the percentage of the "Daily Value" of iodine on the label, they would actually put the estimated amount by weight. Some of us are trying to track this in our diet, and sometimes it is not clear what the percentage they list is equivalent to. Swanson does have the best price that I have found on this product.
Use this on almost all cooked foods. Will continue to purchase. Would like to see the container fuller though….it is only about 1/3rd full…so value could be better.
I tried this a chicken and spinach soup that I make -- it is wonderful!! It blends very well with the combination and enhances the flavor and nutrients.
A great way to get your essential iodine with just a sprinkle on your food. Very little taste and packed in a recyclable plastic container with a slotted top. Does not seem to be sensitive to humidity.
I really like the flavor this adds to my dishes, and plan on keeping this in stock! And nice to know I am getting additional iodine in my diet using it.
I have to remember to add to foods and to mix with my sea salts to give good flavor. I can't measure the effectiveness but I know the quality is there. I feel my thyroid needs iodine at my age (56) but I would rather use a healthier substitute. Thanks!
