I ran out of this wonderful Maldon Salt over a week ago and a lot of our local stores don't carry it or it is very very, expensive. I especially use it as a finishing salt, but also halve grape tomatoes (Cherubs) in a paper plate for our salads, and lightly sprinkle Maldon salt and a small pinch of sugar over them and let them masserate for at least 30 min. They are sooo good. The salt is also good on oil-coated baked potatoes sprinkled on prior to baking. Thank you so much for providing excellent service and such a quick and well-packaged delivery. Cheers!
Maldon sea salt flakes live up to the hype: great tasting little pyramids of flavor. They add a sparkling finish for roasted vegetables, cookies, breads, and scones or biscuits. The plastic tub is handy for keeping the salt dry - I usually put some of the salt in a smaller container for daily use. It's a bit expensive but you get a large amount of salt and, for me at least, one tub lasts for years.
I absolutely love Maldon, especially as a finishing salt. I use it for topping everything from salad to steak. It's difficult to explain how one salt tastes better than another, but Maldon has a better, less "salty" taste, with a taste of the sea left in your mouth. The only reason for not giving complete 5 stars is that the price has doubled recently. I usually get the 3 lb bucket, as it's all around the better value. Love this stuff!
Arrived quickly and the bucket it's in is easy to open and close. Great value, since the small boxes are usually $7-14. This will last me a year or so as a home baker
I like that it tests low for heavy metals. Note that these are flakes, so I put them in a salt grinder to season food on my plate. I use the flakes to make soups.
This tub saved us a good little chunk of money! My boyfriend is a chef so we use Maldon frequently. We can put the tub in the pantry and refill our little jar on the countertop easily.
The flakes are very light and soft, so they work well in a salt grinder, yet are not so hard to break up in the fingers. Therefore, they work well in baked good too, not maintaining a hard gritty texture as hard, large particles of salt do.
Maldon Sea Salt Flakes are the highest quality flakes/crystals on the market. Buying them online through Walmart online makes it easy with great pricing and shipping. Great value all together!
Love this stuff! I use it on pretty much everything I make. Because it's in a big container I end up having to ration it out into a smaller container to use, but it ends up working well.
purchased 3.1 lbs last year for $24. now 1lb is $20. ridiculous. why? this is salt. not diamonds or gold. nice to have flake salt.for baking but i wouldnt buy it again.
