Margaret Holmes Seasoned Collard Greens, Canned Vegetables, 27 oz

Mercy me, I haven't had collards taste this homemade and flavorful since Granny use to make them years ago. I felt like I was sitting at granny's table again eating her collard greens because this is the only brand that taste that delicious. Margaret Holmes is the same as your grandmas home cooked collards and it'll take you back in time with each bite. I'm stocking up with Margaret Holmes canned collards

Truly one of the best side items available these days, particularly if one is of (genuinely) Southern origin ... It resurrects the cooking of my mother and my grandmother, and pairs with practically any dish!

Love collard greens, don't always want to make fresh ones but these are great for a canned product! Nice sized can has lots of servings and it was mailed to me. I did add cooked pieces of bacon and onion to it, made a good addition to my meal.

I like to keep a can of Margaret Holmes greens any varity in the pantry. They taste pretty good and seasoned nicely. Cooking for 1 needs to be easy but good. These go really well with a pot of pinto beans and mashed potatoes. I usuall add bacon grease and onion but not really needed.

The best love them they taste like the old restaurant greens I can't do them any better they're my favorite.

They are not bad tasting and the texture is good. Not bad for a quick meal when you don't want to go through the many steps to make them from scratch.

They are fine in a pinch. My only real complaint is that they have so many large stem pieces, but for just my husband and myself, they are just fine.

At least half the cans were dented - some too badly to be safe to use. The shipping box was a little smashed in one corner, but not nearly badly enough for that many damaged cans, so it seems they must have been packed that way. Since I am not able to scan or go to the store, I have no recourse for amends. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Thanks if someone really does take the time to read this and help me out here.

spices in these must be for another culture, or somebody spilled a vat of hot peppers in this batch! like my aunt told me once; while she was busy ironing she told all three of her teens at different times to go salt the beans she had put on to cook. each of them claiming to not have time and leaving. so b4 dinner she salted the beans herself. that evening when they began eating dinner she asked each one if they had salted the beans. each had salted the beans b4 leaving the house and she had salted the beans also. they weren't able to eat the beans needless to say. likewise, if someone didnt drop the whole vat of peppers in these greens then several ppl, thinking they hadnt been added yet felt it their duty to spice the collards! well, thats what it reminded me of anyway. true story;)

Southern collard greens are gross. I never order them. I always order glory collard greens. . I can't even give them to someone in the family because they all hate them and say they're the grossest thing they ever
