I love that it is a gluten free option that isn’t sweet. I love how it always comes out great in cast iron, glass, or cup cake tins. Excellent product overall.
Absolutely delicious. The taste and texture is perfect. I made half as directed and half with sliced jalapeños and a splash of the brine—can’t decide which I liked better! It is a little sweet-not horribly so but my only gripe would be: it left a little bit of a strange feeling on me teeth after. Some gluten free brands do this (katz) and I’m not sure why! It wasn’t terrible and I’d still eat it again and again!
This was the best corn bread ever. I made mine in my ninja air fryer. A little bit on the cakey side but if you want a more dense version you can leave out one of the eggs. The taste and texture were excellent . I baked it for Thanksgiving to make my gluten-free cornbread stuffing.
I'm gluten intolerant and have to be careful with cornbread mixes having flour in them, so I was really happy to find this, especially for such a good price.
Good. Have bought many times before.
So good! I loved the texture and the taste. It's hard to find a good gf cornbread mix, and this one is definitely one of the best. There is no "chemical" taste that some of the others have. I hope Walmart continues to carrie this!
Vegan Success! I used 3 Tbls per egg of the water in the can of Great Northern Beans instead of eggs. It raised perfectly! I used olive oil instead of Canola Oil, personal preferance. It raised beautifully. Looks like the pic on the Marie Callendar mix package. Tastes Delicious! Now I will warm up the can of Great Northern beans %26 have beans %26 cornbread for lunch! I used Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk instead of cow milk. Gluten free. 🤗
Taste like a sweet yellow cake. I prefer old fashioned no sugar , buttermilk , cast iron pan cornbread with dome grit to it, then drizzle a tad of local honey on it. Many folks would indeed like this sweet cornbread. It is moist , rises quite a bit in pan like a cake. This one is not for me but may suit you 😊
Pros: Great texture and rise.. used half of a package for a 8 inch iron skillet with one egg and water ( dairy free) and a vegan margarine 3tbs and it was great —if— and only if — you like sweet cornbread. Cons: This isn’t something I’d recognize as cornbread if I hadn’t made it and that’s what the package said. This is sweet! Almost like cake. Id love it if they made an unsweetened version, great for those of us who aware cutting g out any sugars — and love the traditional homemade cornbread taste. Also- they’d really Knick it out of the park adding a dairy free/ vegan recipe. If I could find this brand unsweetened , I’d buy it by the five pound bag.
I have a gluten allergy and ordered two identical gluten free corn bread mixes. They substituted one with a corn bread that has gluten in it. I refused the one with gluten and took the one labeled gluten free. I was still charged for 2 items but received 1. The employee told me I would be refunded for one but never received it. I tried to resolve it online and told that I was not eligible for a refund. I should have only been charged for the one I received. $3.22. I was charged $6.44. I will be calling Visa tomorrow and report this to them since Walmart services were no help.
