We love to mix this with cake mix and make a desert. Hard to find this mix, but we love it when we do. It's delicious. A pantry must have for us.
Best I Ever ate, I'm not a big fan of corn bread, I was making a Greek dish, add spinach onion and feta... it was simple to mix, texture moist flavor just great recommend, Absolutely😋
This is by far the best corn bread mix for me. I have tried a few other ones and always come back to this. They are very easy to make, all you need is just water and oil. The come out very soft, light and deliciously good.
I've made this precisely as the recipe states, and I have also tried it, substituting honey for half of the water... YUMMMMMMM. Another addition is roasted peppers... you can add from one to three roasted, peeled and very finely chopped chile's (I do not seed them) to a 9x13 pan... for color I like to do one red and one green chile' (do NOT use hot chile's, I use mild ones). Chile powder just doesn't do the trick, it just makes it hot without adding depth...
DELICIOUS crowd pleaser. I add a can of creamed corn and 2 eggs to this mix and people RAVE about it. It is delicious! Even when I bake it without the creamed corn and eggs, it is AMAZING! Best cornbread mix you can buy. In fact, it might even be BETTER THAN HOMEMADE from scratch.
I have always loved Marie Callendar's Original Cornbread with honey butter smeared all over it when I would go to their restaurants both here and California. Now having the mix you can make at home is awesome!!!! I have also bought the Marie Callendar's HONEY BUTTER cornbread & muffin mix and it is better than the original if you like a sweeter, cake-like cornbread. Walmart is special ordering this style for me and I greatly appreciate their helpfulness to their customers.
I added the 1 1/2 cups of water to the mix and it was very runny. I thought the directions were wrong but I baked it at 375 for 40 minutes and it was perfect and delicious. it would be so easy to fill a muffin pan with this mix. as long as walmarts sells this it will be the cornbread mix that I buy. easy, delicious and not too many calories. always great to make a new discovery.
we love the Marie Callender's Low Fat Original Corn Bread Mix the best. It is not too sweet and is very close to the cornbread that we used to get when we could go to the actual Marie Callender's restaurants! My only problem is that when I ordered multiple bags of this mix, I got 3 bags that had expiration dates which had expired a month before I got them! I still use them, but I am NOT too happy to be getting expired products at full price!
I didn't get this cornbread mix. This is made for the microwave and ordered for a friend of mine. This package has a picture of a microwave on it. What I received does not.
It's not Marie Callender's Corn Bread Mix I don't like, it's the fact that I ordered it from a store 3 miles from my home and it was shipped from GEORGIA!! Really? I didn't ask for it to be shipped, but that's not the worst part, the worst part is that it arrived today, 7 days after I ordered it and the expiration date on it is 09/24/2021.!! I'd rather have not gotten it at all. I've ordered many times from Walmart, usually having it delivered due to the fact that I'm disabled. Although I have picked up 2 orders as well, I'm thinking that using this feature is not in my best interest any more, as now I have to take it back to my local store and exchange it. To say I'm not happy about this is an understatement. Perhaps you need to train your employees to look at expiration dates before sending expired items to your customers.
