Hailing from New Orleans, we have a critical palette when it comes to seafood and gumbo. Though some may disagree with my opinion on this, for the price and quantity, I will vouch for this as one of the best I've ever had store bought! The spice level is perfect for me, great amount of shredded chicken, could use a tiny bit more sausage, however, the quality of sausage is good. For those that do not LOVE okra in their gumbo, this is good, there is a is a minimum amount, however I do LOVE okra and could use additional. Only 300 calories in the entire container with 24 grams of protein! Great job y'all!
I don't do my own cooking anymore, so I have to depend on ordering things that I like to eat. oh well that's not as easy as one might think. I was delighted to see this gumbo was an option. I was even more delighted to see how good it tastes and how well it was done. it is just a bit too spicy, but I managed to deal with it. it tastes very good it's almost like homemade but as I said just a bit too spicy other than that it's great!!
I had this Market Side Gumbo for the first time today. It was very flavorful and had a good amount of spicyness, but not so much that it blocked the other flavors. It was filling and had a fairly thick consistency. I recommend this Gumbo for people who like medium spicy flavor. I will definitely order this again.
I honestly didn't think I was going to like this, but this was so good. It had the right amount of spiciness, it wasn't a lot, it was just right. Because I don't do spicy foods anymore, but I'll definitely be buying more. Just open up the lid slice the film on the top of it and put in the microwave and you're good to go.
This was surprisingly really good close to tasting as homemade as I think I would get. I don't often buy marketside brands because they're often bland. This was so flavorful. My only complaint was that it could have had more sausage in it. It had a lot of chicken and I probably only had four pieces of sausage. It was so good. I paired it with the marketside, bread bowl delicious!.
I love this soup and it's only 300 calories per container. I usually only eat half at a time making it 150 calories. It's spicy enough for me. My husband says it's a little too spicy for him. It usually has some big chunks of chicken in it. I love the consistency and the flavors blended together. There are smaller vegetables in it. Okra etc. and the sausage is good.
i never expect much from Gumbo outside of New Orleans, so i was just expecting soup. it has a tomato base, so it's Creole, not Cajun. but it's surprisingly good. all of the right ingredients, including okra (also a Creole ingredient). I've never had tomato Gumbo in New Orleans, but I'm not opposed to it.
Really very good but oh so hot and spicy. I LIKE hot and love spicy so if you don’t this soup is not for you. had an extra amount of chicken breast pieces which were good but limited amount of sausages (I had 3) so the chicken sausage ratio was off. Had a great texture with veggies even okra which I haven’t really eaten before. I added corn, peas and green beans to tone down the heat. This is Great for lunch or dinner. It tasted like homemade If it had more smoked sausage, would hv given it 5 🌟. I’m going to buy again in the large family size while adding Argentina shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, peas, celery, onions. Wow this is GOOD!
Real gumbo, of any flavor, does NOT contain fennel! Ugh. The fennel overpowered the taste. Since I was born and raised on Louisiana, I know good gumbo; it does NOT taste like this did. (shudder) This was horrible. I ate some of the chicken and sausage out of it and threw the remainder away. It was truly gross!
This is the most bland gumbo I ever had. Try their other soups, just sayin.
