Most smaller fly reels are for storing your line as you travel and move around. Fighting trout and bass do not require reeling in the fish from the reel itself. This makes the Martin Caddis Creek reel perfect for my fishing endeavors. The price point is great too because it includes backup and flyline, all included!

Great old school reel
This is a really good old school click and pawl reel. It does the job of holding and paying out line without over-running as any good reel should.

Not fancy but works great
This pre-spooled reel is not very expensive but works great. It has a leader with the correct tippet for the pole I'm using. Not fancy but adequate, however I'm just a neophyte fly fisherman just learning the roles.
