Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Square Enix, PlayStation 4

Got this for my kids for Christmas this year. The SteelBook case is awesome my kids are gonna love it.

This game has been an absolute gem, was worried about my pre-order considering everything that has gone wrong, and continues to go wrong with Marvel's Avengers. This is nothing like that.

very linear with fun combat, simple progression and upgrades, funny character banter, and a good story. I actually prefer these versions of the characters over the movies.

This game is well worth the playthrough. Very enjoyable, comedic atmosphere. Sadly the voice actors are not the same from the movies, but that can be expected and does NOT take away from the enjoyment

So glad this was upgradeable to the PS5 version, I originally thought it was a ps5 game having never owned a ps4, so when it arrived I was wondering if I would be able to play it on the PS5 but I was able too and I was able to upgrade to the ps5 version for free

Let's start off with the bad: the gameplay kinda sucks. There's a few waves of enemies per encounter, and you just sorta run around mindlessly blasting while waiting for the other guardians abilities to finish their cooldown. Exploration isn't that exciting either, while the environments are gorgeous the rewards range from a small pile of scrap (or *medium* pile! Lucky you!) to a costume for a guardian (ngl, those are pretty cool. Costumes are a fun reward). It doesn't help matters gameplay-wise on PS5 that your two video options are 4K at 30fps or 1080p that only *targets* 60fps. So all in all, not a very good game. HOWEVER, this *is* a fantastic movie. Visuals are gorgeous (especially when playing at 4K30fps, the only time i recommended doing so), story is interesting, banter and conversations between characters is really fun, the music (both licensed and original) is top notch, the decision making aspect is really fun, this game is sorta like an episodic adventure like Telltale makes that has been restructured into being a third person shooter. It's kinda weird, ngl. But it's also a lot of fun, and is easily worth the $30 I paid for it. If you're stuck with a PS4, I'd hold out a while longer. This game doesn't perform very well on last gen machines, and will be worth waiting to play on more powerful hardware.

Entertaining game. Very similar contorls and story progression as the Spider-Man game. if you enjoyed that you will enjoy GTOG. negatives are simply that the game is not overly challenging and there are no DLCs. Once you finish the game thats it. I completed the game and then returned to finish up trophies in roughlt 12 total hrs of gameplay, so it is not going to be something that you struggle with. Overall though a fun game that I will probably return to in several months to run through again.

Half way through the game and I love it. I don’t play a lot of single player video games. But this takes the cake. Haven’t had this much fun since the spider man games. You won’t be disappointed

My order was confusing when I received it. I received Gurdians of the Galaxy deluxe edition but there was another box thrown in as well. It was a empty broken box of the Guardians of the Galaxy for PS5. Why would someone do this. I was giving this as a gift and had to contact Walmart for help, than realized I needed to ask the person it was meant for if something was wrong with this order. Other than the extra garbage thrown in the answer was no. So I gave a lower rating for the confusion and waste of time

Came smashed and broken. It was the only one they had at the time so they could not send a replacement. I had to keep the game and give it as a gift as it was, if I wanted to make sure he got a xmas gift, even though the cases were completely broken.
