I cannot keep jalapeños in my house. We're constantly running out. Nobody remembers buying the first shaker of these, but I decided to use them one day, and I add them to the grocery order regularly, now. They're dehydrated, so nobody steals them for snacks or sandwiches the way they do with fresh or pickled jalapeños, so I always have them available when I'm cooking. They rehydrate while cooking, just from the juices of the meat or vegetables I'm using them in, and add that lovely jalapeño flavor. Walmart asked about heat level. I didn't really know how to answer. They're literally just dried jalapeños, so if you eat jalapeños, you should know these are about the same heat level as pickled jalapeños. They're not very hot, but I can't say they don't have any heat, because they're jalapeños, and some people think that is hot.
These are delicious, think of red pepper flakes which are spicy and great in and of themselves...then add the flavor of a dried jalapeno and you have this. They are not quite as hot as red pepper flakes, but taste much better. I use them on eggs, pasta, potatoes so far and I can imagine trying them on other foods. Try them, if you are a jalapeno fan I think you'll love them.
I absolutely love the McCormick® Crushed Jalapeno Pepper. I've used it in a few of my dishes since I've recieved this. I love how it adds just enough kick to my recipes and viola, it's done. I usually cut up my jalapeños but this makes it much more convenient and I don't have spicy hands anymore. Would recommend 100%
I recieved this McCormick Crushed Jalapeno Pepper for free in exchange of my honest review. My husband and I love adding heat to almost everything we eat! These crushed jalapeño peppers were so delicious and hotter than we expected. We've added them while cooking as well as a seasoning after cooking is done. From a pizza topping to fajita seasoning mix and it's really good. Would totally recommend it for anyone who likes to add a little extra heat without having anything fresh on hand.
I received this product in exchange for my honest review. This stuff is delicious. If you like a little kick without all the burning, this is the jalapeño seasoning for you. We've started putting it on everything from nachos to fries, the stuff is awesome!
Really good strong jalapeño flavor, does have some kick so if you don't like a little heat it's probably not for you. We made a creamy butter garlic jalapeño white sauce over spaghetti & chicken I baked in the jalapeño spice and it was amazing. We all had seconds.
I used this in a soup that usually asks for red pepper flakes and this probably wasnt the best paring because these jalapeño flakes sneak up on you! But it does what its supposed to do, be spicy. I do enjoy the flakes itself because it was smaller and thinner than that of red pepper flakes which I can see working really well when frying meat in a pan. I believe this would stick well to the meat and not fall off. A good alternative to cayenne pepper to heat things up for a different taste. May even try a pinch of this in some corn!
Very impressed with this spice. Generally I prefer things moderately hot, you know - "Goldilocks" level, "not too hot, not too bland" type of thing. It is also important that the heat delivered is not too sharp and does not overwhelm the rest of the seasonings but provides and even and well balanced spiciness. Well, this crushed jalapeno delivers on all accounts. It also happens to have a very pleasant mild fragrance which I did not expect but consider an additional bonus. Because the mix contains seeds as well a little goes a long way and I suggest you start with a tiny pinch and then adjust according to your preferences. In my observation it also tends to "bloom" with time, increasing the heat level as the dish continues cooking and cools down (as often true for many dried spices). Great buy due to the potency since this container will last us for quite a while (also like the flip-top with perfectly sized holes). Perfect for any type of soup, stew, sauce, salsa, canning, pickling and any other place you want to spice up.
I love this product from the packaging to the taste. The jalapeño flavor is spicy to the right point and tastes like the real thing. I have used it to cook many different dishes and have enjoyed it. The product is easy to use as the container is great to pour from. I highly recommend this product as it is a great tasting spice.
I'm not complaining...just sharing a joke😆 I had 8rder the Crushed McCormick Jalepeno Pepper, not thinking about putting in a 'Substitution', and I hadn't checked my email before Delivery... When My Order arrived, the Receipt said that a Substitution was placed, as they were out of stock on the Crushed Jakepeno Pepper... I received a bittle of McCormick Celery Salt, and a Jalepeno Pepper from the Produce Department 😂😂😂
