“Real Food Made Easy” is what McCormick states about their McCormick Slow Cookers Seasoning Mixes. Now you are probably wondering why I am writing about McCormick's Slow Cooker Seasoning Mixes. Because I tried the pot roast seasoning mix last weekend and it was so very simple. To create this very delicious meal, all I had to do was add a chuck roast with new potatoes, an onion and baby carrots to my slow cooker. Next, I stirred the seasoning mix with one-half cup water until well blended, poured it over my ingredients and put the lid on. Then I let it simmer for eight hours on low temperature and when it was time for dinner, I stirred the sauce before serving. So, see how easy it was to prepare and it is a delicious, hearty meal the whole family will love and enjoy. Also, it made my house smell so very good and since I had the window in my kitchen open, the back yard also. It should be pointed out for best results, do not remove the lid during cooking. Further, if you are daring and want to try something new, use one cup of red wine instead of water for a exciting different taste. In case you are wondering about the spices used in the McCormick Recipe Mixes, each flavorful meal is made with natural herbs and spices that don't contain any MSG or artificial flavors or colors. Plus, since the packet contains the right amount of seasoning, you do not need to guess what to use and how much to use. As for flavors, you can find seasoning packets for Savory Pot Roast, BBQ Pulled Pork, and Hearty Beef Stew. These come in 1.3 ounce size and are packaged in the United States. For you your information, McCormick's mission is to focused on the quality, consistency and awesomeness of their various flavors and to share it with people around the world. My next seasoning mix packet will be the BBQ Pulled Pork since I really love pork. So jump into your car and go to your closest grocery store and shop for dinner but remember to buy McCormick Slow Cookers Seasoning Mix in your favorite flavor.
I used this McCormick's Slow Cookers: Savory Pot Roast Seasoning, 1.3 oz , to make a traditional Sunday night dinner for my family, and the results were delicious. I used a 2 ½ lb. beef roast, russet potatoes, baby carrots, and a yellow onion to prepare this meal. I simply added the dry seasoning packet to one cup of water and poured it over the roast and cut vegetables and then slow roasted it all in my six quart crock pot for eight hours. The results were a fork tender flavor infused roast with soft savory potatoes and veggies that we really enjoyed and the dogs begged for. This is exactly the flavor we were looking for in a pot roast, and not too salty either. The leftovers we ate the next day were even more flavorful and the huge pot was gone right away. Easy prep, great results…you really can't mess up this meal, and everyone will enjoy it. Recommended!
McCormick what can I say--other than "you know your seasoning"--what a tasty easy put it together little seasoning packet--I used a small rump roast--seasoned with salt and pepper plugged with bits of fresh garlic and browned all sides--mixed the seasoning packet with water as directed added one onion chopped and one chopped celery stalk-even though it says slow cookers I instead used my pressure cooker placing all into cooker--the gravy was so delicious with a rich brown color-bread sopping good flavor Yummy!! This new Slow Cookers Savory Pot Roast Seasoning packet is a must have staple to have on hand always--great for busy moms whether using slow cooker or pressure cooker. Thanks again McCormick--I will always have this product in my pantry.
The pack is designed for a 2.5-3lb roast. I tried it with a 1.5lb flank steak and halved the seasoning and water. I put whole mini carrots that were on the large size, along with a chunked large onion, and potatoes cut in half or thirds (large chunks) on the bottom, then lay the meat on top. I didn't even pre-mix the water and spice mix. I just tossed the spices over the meat and poured the water over gently so the spices stayed on the meat. I cooked it for 6 hrs on low since it was a smaller meat. It came out delicious! The spices are very nice and natural tasting. The veggies were al-dente, not mushy, and the meat was tender. We really enjoyed the meal and it was super easy to make! Now I have another half a package and I'm going to use it with lean chuck chops…and I'll add a little red wine too. I recommend this!
This review is for the McCormick’s Slow Cookers Savory Pot Roast Packet. This was a free sample received through the Wal-mart Spark Reviewer program. I was not sure what to expect. I love the McCormick line of products. I have used many of their spices and other products for more years than I care to count. But many of the “slow cooker” packets have been disappointing. I was not disappointed with McCormick’s. It was easy to read, needed ingredients that I almost always have on hand, and very simple to make. But the big surprise was that . . . . it was delicious!! The beef was juicy. The seasoning was very good. It was even better after it was reheated. My family really enjoyed it.
I had never really thought about using a seasoning mix for pot roast before but I saw this seasoning mix for savory pot roast by McCormick, I decided to give it a try and I am glad that I did. The seasoning mix has no artificial flavors and it has natural spices Some of the spices listed are the same that I use but there were other spices that I had not even considered using. I used the seasoning mix in the roast that I put on and it definitely gave it a whole new taste. The roast had a more enhanced flavor and was much more tender. The potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery were a lot more tender and they didn't seem dried out and really added more flavor to them also. My husband wanted to know I had done differently because it was better tasting than other pot roasts I had cooked before. I told him that I had used the McCormick slow cookers savory pot roast seasoning mix and he said that we are going to be checking into more of those because that is the best flavoring that he has ever tasted. I will definitely being buying more of these and I hope that they make the seasoning mixes in a variety of flavors and I will be telling my friends and family about these.
The McCormick savory pot roast seasoning packet was just the thing that was need to tweak the taste of your our pot roast recipe. There is virtually no prep time and that is great for me after being at work all day. Just place the meat and veggies in the slow cooker. Mix the seasoning packet according to the direction pour over the meant and veggies and choose your option to cook for eight hours on slow or four hour in high. This is great when your days are heck to I can start my dinner the night before and not have to worry about what is for dinner when I get off work the next day. It really made a great pot roast and the family loved it and I did mix my own seasonings. McCormick had me covered. The taste was fantastic.
If you are looking for an easy pot roast with tasty seasoning, this is the choice for you. The pot roast seasoning was excellent. It was a definite winner with my family. It was not too spicy, the perfect blend of spices. My grandchildren loved it and everyone wanted seconds. I would definitely buy this product again.
I received the McCormick Slow Cookers Savory Pot Roast Seasoning mix free through the Sparks Reviewer Program. The package recipe calls for a 2 1/2 to 3# roast, 5 cups cut-up vegetables, such as carrots, celery, onions & potatoes one seasoning packet and a cup of water. I used an arm roast and potatoes, baby carrots & onion. Directions are to place roast and vegetables in the slow cooker. Mix the seasoning mix & water until blended. Pour over roast & vegetables. Cover. Cook 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH. My roast was frozen, so I went for the 8 hours on LOW. It could have used another hour, as my roast was quite thick, also. Thawed, I think 8 hours would have been perfect. With a very full pot, the meat & veggies had a nice amount of seasoning. You could also thicken the sauce if you prefer to have it thicker. It was even tastier the second day. Another quick meal idea from the cooks at McCormick! Give it a try when you have your next roast beef dinner.
This Pot Roast Seasoning was not that great. It was just ok. I usually use beef bouillon cubes or granules and salt and pepper in my crock pot roasts and it tastes much better and makes a better tasting gravy. I won't be buying it again.
