I asked for help to get this cam set up! I wish I had tried the prompts a lot sooner! The process was so quick and easy with a REAL person who directed me step-by-step to get the camera synced with my internet router. If you are new to this technology or an older senior adult, you may not realize that you can give the company rep permission to take control to lead you through the process. If I had known this, I would have called much sooner than trying to rely on my own limited knowledge and abilities!
It’s easy to set up, app is easy to manage. It comes with the materials to mount it if you would like but I have it on my table in my hall. The footage is pretty clear on it, and I love the auto tracking motion feature! You can turn it off or on. It comes with night vision, you can make the audio or video sensitivity higher or lower to trigger more or less motion. It has a siren on it, you can talk through it, and you can hear audio from the camera as well. It needs a microSD card. My only complaint is you may need a subscription and the basic monthly plan is 5.99$. The plan consists of a 2 day footage storage minimum you can review and download. Overall I’d give it a 8/10. I would also recommend buying a longer C type cord to plug your device.
I've been using Mercury cameras for years... the downside is they changed their app when they updated their cameras. so the new app is Mercury and not genni anymore. so then my old camera does not work on the new app which kind of sucks but it is what it is. the new camera I bought works on the Mercury app and the clarity is good. the night vision is good. I do recommend this camera. I actually got mine for $20 so it was on sale at that time. it rotates also which is a plus. ended up getting a new camera because I needed to watch my dog and it did the job. you can turn on motion sensor or turn it off. all in all I do recommend the camera. it's been doing well since I've had it.
Honestly, for the price point compared to the other options available in this category, I was impressed with the night mode specifically, and the fact that living with this camera is not a hassle from receiving tons of unwanted notifications. I have not used or explored the panic button feature, but I’m sure that that’s nice and it even comes with the included mounting hardware. Super easy to set up and honestly for when I was looking for this checked all my boxes.
This device is pretty nice, it has some advanced firmware on it, with full capabilities for RTMP video, however this feature is disabled. To view the camera one must follow it's stream to the cloud, where it can then be viewed. This is not ideal, but it is a PTZ camera with pan and tilt and even tracking for 20$, which is great. Vs. amazon camera, simplisafe, etc. this camera is cheaper, better quality, and more features. However, my aim was to use this a local vlan with my own storage/facilities . But for the price, great camera, hoping to see someone unlock it's capabilities.
I really like this Merkury Smart Indoor Camera.... It has a very good picture quality, and the auto tracking is amazing. I can check in day or night and see exactly what's going on. I haven't had to use a panic button but it's an amazing addition. The footage is always clear, and night mode works just as well.
it was a horrible company it was a waste of my money. their customer support is horrible they ended up canceling my subscription a few days into the month and would not issue a refund and cut the service off basically stealing my money. I wouldn't get notifications for anything until 20 to 30 minutes later sometimes longer the cameras would just cut off sometimes or at least not be recording even though internet and electric is on. says it has free service but if you're not paying it's not worth having at all unless you just want to be able to see live feed. I bought two different cameras both claim to seamlessly connect to Google and work with assistant not true not true at all do not buy
Not as good as they used to be. Had difficulties getting it setup. Could not get it to take a 128gb sd card, as it says it will. Talked to support and was told that you have to use a computer, download an app and format the sd card to FAT32 file, then you can use it. Doesn't say that on the box or description anywhere. It was a normal sd card that works in everything. There are much easier to use and setup camera's out there. I have one of their older ones, 3 years ago, and it was much easier.
I have been using Geeni Merkury, smart cameras for years and I have 10 of them around my property right now, but I've never had issues with any of them like I did with this one! This is a newer model that I've never had before. First of all, the power cord didn’t work at all. I tried it on 2 other devices but got no power, so I had to use one of my own power cords. Then I had trouble getting the sd to go in properly. It finally clicked in but figuring out how to get it to record and track motion was way more complicated than the other cameras I've used. I had to get chat help and they walked me through getting it set up and then told me to wait an hour for it to sync, because it wasn't recording anything before. I went to work and came home, and it was tracking motion, but it wasn't recording any video, it was only snapping still photos. Contacted chat help again. After reformatting the sd card like they told me to, I couldn't get it to go back into the sd slot properly. It seemed that it was broken, loose inside ever since I first got it. I gave up trying and ended up returning it to the store!
This is a horrible camera never stays connected to WiFi all kinds of connectivity issues and problems! Customer service is even worse than the camera!
