Nice little cameras for home, once you get the settings where you need them, they work great. The cost of cloud storage is reasonable, something I personally would recommend so you don't lose important footage when you need it. Good value for the money as a starter set.

Fantastic starter camera

Shali August 19, 2025

I have been contemplating a Ring camera for years. Never got one. Something came up that I needed one quickly and decided to see what walmart had that was inexpensive. Settled on this one; it had great reviews and nice features. It's the first camera (for security) that i have ever owned. It's fantastic. I wouldn't say it was easy to set up but it wasn't hard. For a first timer it wasn't too bad. It tells you what to do but doesn't show you. If you have had a camera before then it will be a snap for you. Tilt pan rotation and the picture is really good. Can't go wrong with this. I may get another. The only thing is you will need to have it plugged in; it doesn't run on battery so for me it can only be an inside camera but that is what I needed.

I really really like that you can set up a patrol mode that makes it so that you can have the camera switching between a bunch of angles that you set and can set whatever interval, as frequently as a minute if you want. the app is intuitive and easy to use, the only thing that I don't like is that when you are in night mode, the system kind of forces you to choose between an IR light going off during night vision mode, a full color Spotlight mode that just brings way too much attention to the camera, and a "smart" mode that only turns the full Spotlight on when it senses detection, which is not ideal for the placement of one of my cameras at all. the actual camera is so good that you can put it behind a window and in low light conditions it will record extremely well. my only true issue is that I kind of want night mode on, but I don't want the infrared light on because it reflects off the window and makes the picture unusable to be honest. if they just add a feature where night mode has an off button for the infrared light, that would be absolutely amazing. besides that, 4.9 stars. GET AN SD CARD! the subscription trial is absolutely amazing and will spam you with notifications until you find tune the parameters of your cameras, but besides that the subscription is totally worth it for people that have the disposable income. I'm going to be buying some SD cards and seeing how it works from there.

Supports ONVIF!

Gabriel April 14, 2026

This camera is freaking awesome for the price. after I bought the first one, I bought a few more to replace my Blink cameras. It supports ONVIF! so I'm using them with my own DVR service and my PC hard drives as storage and it works great. that way I can record 24/7 and not miss stuff like I was with my Blink cameras, no matter what I set their sensitivity to.

Good camera for a good price!

Leah May 11, 2026

This is a great option for a pet camera. I use it to monitor my dog who has severe separation anxiety. I can check in on her and even talk to her through the camera to help her calm down. Also works to keep an eye on anything else that might be going on when I am not home.

Best Bang for your $$

Christian July 5, 2025

If you're looking for a cheap alternative to a Google nest outdoor camera, this is the one only flaw is that it does not directly stream to the Google home app. You have to have a Google home hub or a Google home screen in order to see it without using the app that it uses the 360° horizontal and 180° vertical is absolutely awesome.

Great Camera

Morris May 14, 2026

I like it it looks great. The only problem is I don't like about it is that I have to use the app to view it. I like to view it on a webpage and TP-Link don't have a web browser for this if they did, I would buy more cameras for my property but I do recommend it

we like it.

Brittney April 7, 2026

wish the cord was longer so I could plug it in inside not have to use a extension cord. sometimes the camera gets stuck looking one way and we have to go out there and reposition it. we like that we can look at our phone to see what's going on outside. And we like that the alerts pop up on our phone letting us know what's on the camera. we also use zip ties to put it up temporarily so we can figure out where we would like the camera to be permanently..

Great camera bad manufacturer to deal with!

anonymous October 23, 2025

Camera works great, beautiful picture! But it quits and is defective just try to get a replacement under warranty and just to filr a claim it will take a long time coming.n When you start a claim and tell them what you did to make sure it wasn't the power supply and how you tested it it is like talking to a brick wall. It took me two months just to get a return authorization. Then they tell you in no minced words if they think you damaged it it is up to their discretion. If you buy one of these and it quits you are better to throw it in the trash rather than pay the postage to send it back , the length of time to find the return information and the postage to send it back. Too bad it is a great camera until it quits within the warranty time the hastle they give you to get it replaced can definately not make it worth registering it when new or trying to get it fixed!
