This is the only wood glue I use. It does what its suppose too and looks good, dries good and is priced good.

Excellent product! Multiple applications will needed for large damaged areas. Similar to applying peanut butter . Finished product will end -up as hard as a rock.

I used wood hardener on the year-over-year damage to the front edge of the front door threshold and I am now rebuilding that edge with the wood filler. I need to stop for the day because the sun's coming around and it's getting too hot. People remark about how difficult it is to eyeball the 16:1 ratio and how fast it sets up. Here's where your 6th grade math comes in handy. 1/4 teaspoon of hardener to 4 teaspoons of filler (which is about all you should be dealing with at one time anyway). And 1/4 teaspoon of the hardener is about a 1 inch simple squeezed out line.

I appreciate the great value, reasonable cost, fast working time and flexibility to use as much or as little as I need. This is a pro product that takes some practice to get master. If you like premeasured products that give you more working time or products that don't require mixing then buy those other options. I carry this on my truck to every job site as a handyman and use it all the time. It's one of my top 10 most frequently used products I couldn't go without.

This product hardens nicely to a wood like state, but I will say that it is a little challenging to work with if you have big holes to fill. This is because the consistency is somewhat like peanut butter, so getting it to stick in a deeper hole by pushing it in with a putty knife takes some time. I would also say to err on the side of too little hardener rather than too much, or you won't have enough time to work with the filler before it hardens.

Been using this for years on wood doors/frames etc., hollow metal, wood floors even my car doing minor ding and dent repair. It dries like iron and the best part.... it is stainable for wood and paintable for steel.

I had to replace a door lock bur the new mortise was at a different level than old. I filled the old with the filler, sanded flat and made a new hole for the mortise. A carpenter who was leveling the doors was impressed on how he the new arrangement looked.I've also replaced exterior rotted.garage trim and after painting it looked new.

Over the course of many years I have periodically used the plastic wood with good results. Given that has been some time, I read the directions and found the “helpful “ admonishment to mix 16:1. How, pray tell, does one do such a measure? I seem to recall in the past to start with a golf ball size and add harding agent about an inch long, to assure time to apply but then have a hardened outcome. I used this past guidance, rather it cal from an “old timer” or previous directions and it seems to be good. Can Minwax not find a way to incorporate this info into the directions? Come on man (Joe Biden quote), give it a try!

Zero stars. Filled numerous cracks...let dry...sanded 150/220, All looked good. UNTIL I STAINED the wood. (Alder and poplar) Blotches and streaks remained. Can't color match. Stuck with an ugly door until I figure out what to do.
