This Miracle-Grow Sphagnum peat moss is light and fluffy. I'm adding it to my container blueberry potting mix. Certain plants with flowers (like hydrangeas) also benefit from adding sphagnum peat moss to their potting mixtures. Adding this sphagnum peat moss to my container blueberry mix will help aerate and balance its pH. Sphagnum peat moss also helps with water retention when added to potting mixes. A small amount of sphagnum peat goes a long way. This 8 qt bag is large enough to amend several containers. Most soil mixes don't need very much sphagnum peat to help retain water, elevate pH and aerate plant roots.
I like the amount of peat moss in this bag. Perfect amount for a 16-22 inch pot. I use it for my hydrangea, hibiscus, and azaleas. It's easy to use and mix in your pot. It helps hold moisture without becoming waterlogged, which is vital for these plants. The ease of use in this size bag makes it my go to for each pot. It's not too heavy to manage. I use a whole bag of this size in my pots and barrels.
i have used Miracle Gro products for years, and have had great results, so i really wanted to try this. It works just like all their products.....fantastic!!! This will be hard to believe because it's the very first time this has happened to me. i planted 2 tomato plants using this Miracle Gro product. After only 6 days, i had 1 green tomato appear, which i have the picture attached. I have never had a tomato grow on a plant in only 6 days. This was the first time that has ever happened. The rose is absolutely beautiful, and from a new plant. I attached that picture as well. I planted all new plants, which are shown with the solar lights. The plants are doing very well. I was so amazed and thrilled with this. i will definitely be using it again, and I highly recommend it!!
I was unable to keep two plants looking healthy. Was given two new ones with directions to plant with peat moss. Now, have four healthy looking rhododendron plants thriving. My ground was just too hard and mostly clay. Peat moss saved the day and plants.
It does the job. I transplanted about two weeks ago and my split leaf philodendrons have several new leaves, my Swiss cheese plants have quite a few new leaves unfurling, all of my plants are benefiting, greatly!

The best peet moss I ever bought made my seed strawberries grow, Serrano chiles grow by keeping moisture and absorbing water
Seems good. You need to start seeds in this and not potting soil. Potting soil has a chemical that will kill the sprout before it can get established. FYI
I love the peat moss, because my Venus fly planet is growing beautiful.
i add this a perlite in my houseplant mix. its great! plants are happ,, i add in organic crap, worm poop, all that good stuff and they love it. eveyttumes i went fishing, i and extra thing if worms, what i don't use went into a rock flowerbed, that was the best soil EVER!!
