Easy to put together. Had to print Quick Start Guide off the Motorola website. Following the instructions was easy. Lots of serial numbers and model %23's and such. Cable company only needed one of the numbers to activate the modem. So far, no problems.

A significant improvement over the single band router/modem (also a 3.0). This unit supports several Wi-Fi devices although signal strength is a bit less at distant connections, possibly because of structural factors. Overall, this gateway is recommended. .

I'm using the model with Comcast/Xfinity. I bought this one to replace an older Motorola model because this one has greater download speed. I had no problems with my older Motorola modem and I've had no problems with this one. The installation is easy. This modem has more than doubled my download speed. There's no reason to rent a modem from your cable provider. It's a waste of money. I highly recommend any of the Motorola modems.

Replaced my xfinity X1 with this two weeks ago using a 400 Mbs internet plan. Setup was simple and so far range and download speed have improved, picture resolution is very good with no buffering or delays. Dual bands allow use with certain functions (2.4 GHz furnace) while improving speed with streaming. So far very satisfied with this purchase.

TERRIBLE / ALMOST NON-EXISTENT TECH SUPPORT. The message was 15 minute wait time, but when it went over an hour, the message said no one available and hung up. This happened twice. I tried other options, when I finally got a response it was too late. If they can't help me when the product is brand new, what chance would I have as it gets older.

Did not work. Only registered between 1 and 4 mbps. Slower than crap! Bad unit. However, Walmart sent a return label and is sending a replacement. Hopefully it works. This is a good reason to buy from a reputable dealer that will gladly take back a bad item and replace it or refund your money. I wouldn't have paid for it anyway, but this is much less hassle.

While the modem/router is sold as "Xfinity" compatible, it is not. Xfinity blames Motorola for a software problem and Motorola complains Xfinity is not pushing out the required firmware. Regardless, we are the ones who are out of luck. Modem will work for about four weeks and then nothing. I have three electronics that can not find the network at all. The TV that can connect, lags horribly. Do not purchase. We are looking at another brand to replace this one that was purchased seven weeks ago.

The QR code they gave me is not correct when I contacted them they said that the IP address is incorrect. That means that somebody altered it and there's a way to go in and switch everything out but they want a credit card to fix it from Motorola and its people so it doesn't work and doesn't support this modem anymore for Motorola's website that the person who sold it to me gave me so it's out of date and there is no update

This thing has been an absolute piece of hot garbage. I was out of town just after I bought this and of course it was day 31 when I finally how awful it is. 15 years of only buying refurbished netgear routers when I decide to “upgrade”. Try to return and get redirected to the worthless Motorola customer service. I'm literally going to the throw it in the garbage. Never again Motorola.

I purchased this modem before I realized that I needed one with phone jacks so I had to return it. My return was received on September 16th and today is October 8th and I still have not received my refund. Just be careful before you purchase and make sure it's definitely the correct one and you won't need to return it.
