NETGEAR Nighthawk Dual-Band WiFi 7 Router (RS200) – Security Features, BE6500 Wireless Speed (up to 6.5 Gbps) - Covers up to 2,500 sq. ft., 80 Devices – 2.5 Gig Internet Port

After hooking up the router, had multiple problems accessing the internet. Both Roku and Chromecast did not work even after spending time with customer service for both Roku and Google. Apps on my iPad and some on my phone no longer opened.

The set up support via telephone was outstanding. It took almost one hour but tech rep was polite, patient, and had command of English. We have no cell service here, so use of the app was not an option.

Note: I had to disable the “Protection Engine” and reboot the router to make it work properly. (I almost returned the router before this final configuration test.)

It works better than any other Wi-Fi router that I have owned. It is the best rated for newer routers. You should buy it. I did a lot of research before I purchased this router. My 5 computers and TV work better and faster than they have in years. Easy set up. It also runs our irrigation system and doorbell. The price was great and I received it right away!!!

I wish I could give it a five star but ever since I've changed for my old Nighthawk unit to this one there seems to be a delay before loading sites and populating Maps.

My home network needed an upgrade to Wi-Fi 7. With 4 people relying on Internet access for work video conferences, gaming and streaming, my older router was at its limit. A number of devices in the house are wired (two offices and the family room, and basement TV's), so the wireless connection is hosting laptops, phones, tablets, gaming and bedroom TV's. Happy to say all are working exceptionally well - no buffering or delays. The app is nice too, just wish they'd make it easer for people with experience to bypass the elongated app setup process. The only down side to this router's operation (and most home routers for that matter) is it only has 4 Ethernet ports so I have a managed switch next to it to tie in my hardwired connections.

Great router, sleek and easy to configure. It is much better to configure directly into the web UI rather than the app, since you can drill down into more settings than the app, of course you need to know what you are doing, because if not, it will be difficult. it has been running for about 10 days, doing what we needed to do: balance the network traffic, since we do not have much of high speeds in this block

Once the router is up and running, it is fast and has great range. It is covering my entire 2700 square-foot house easily. However, the set up was very buggy. I am transferring from an older Netgear router, and my old app would refuse to allow me to press the button to activate a new router, even though the button was on the screen. I ended up having to uninstall the old router and disable it in the app, then plug in the new router and wait for a few minutes for the app to detect it. Then the app told me to connect the Ethernet to the modem, which was already connected, so I disconnected and reconnected it and that froze the whole thing so I had to unplug my modem and router and reset everything again. Also, when the router was getting set up the app still got frozen in a portion that said “may take a moment” for 1hr+ and I had to force kill it and restart, they need to put reasonable (5 min max) timeouts on their setup times.

Purchased this Nighthawk router to replace the one I purchased in 2019, which reached its "end of life" and was no longer receiving any security updates. Was fairly easy to install with the phone app. The only hiccup was that my old network and new network had the same name and so I actually had to finish the install using the desktop version on the NETGEAR website. It came with a free wall mount kit when I included a certain keyword on the checkout page, but it turns out I didn't need it since my Ethernet cables were too short and I was simply swapping out my old router for this new one, and I was using all 4 Ethernet cable plug-ins. I do like that this router has a vertical orientation rather than a horizontal one like my old router since it now takes up less space on my media closet shelf than my old router did.

Everything works great. I upgraded my R6700 router because coverage was running out, so I was familiar with setting up a Netgear Nighthawk router. I had to update my password in order to logon to the app, but everything went pretty smooth after that.
