We took Walmart popcorn straight from a jar in the refrigerator and used no oil. After 2 minutes in a 1100 watt oven, the popping slowed down, so out it came. We might have left it a bit longer, but there were no more unpopped kernels than our air popper gave. We wondered if the light weight lid would blow off, but it stayed just fine. The bowl was easy to lift by the edges, watching out for still escaping steam. and was cool enough by the time we added oil and salt that I could hold it on my lap. It uses 1/3 cup, which makes enough for two modest servings, but if you and yours are big eaters, get two of them. At Walmart's prices they're quite affordable. There's not a thing they could do to make it better, and that's saying quite a bit for a product nowadays.
A piece of the bowl broke off the side when I took it out of the cardboard, but I used it anyway. It only took a little over two minutes to pop. The kernels were nicely popped and there were very few unpopped kernels left in the bowl. The bowl is hot when you take it out. The bowl holds one to two large servings. I am well pleased with this popper, and plan on giving it as gifts. Best price I found was at Walmart.
Not sure where in the course of a HORRIBLE relocation move the older one ended up; there are still unpacked boxes so it may show up yrt! Like these much better than the hot air poppers with the chutes that send popped kernals all over the place. This bowl pops, then with a little caution for the hot bowl, lets you eat out of the same vessel. And unlike the stand-up shooter models, it stays hot in the bowl. Not everyone likes popcorn without a fat additive, but i love the crunch, and the flavor of the unembellished corn. You can always add a shake of dry flavor enhancer or seasoned salt. The bowl also washes up in about two seconds, unlike the electric types that have lots of places for kernel coats to hide. You can even use the bowl as a chip bowl when you need a serving bowl! ZERO COMPLAINTS. COMPLETELY HAPPY, AGAIN!!!!
It pops corn quickly and easily with or without oil in the microwave and then can be served right in the popper after it cools some. Best home popper we've tried and avoids the additives in packaged bags for microwaves. Walmart sold this for $7.00 with free Site to Store shipping ...... value you can't beat with a stick!!
I was eating microwave popcorn until Dr. Phil. Then started regular kernals in a paper bag and some would get caught in the folds and burn and it was not great. I bought this because it was only $7 and had it shipped site to store. I love it. I put 1/8 cup of kernals in it and set it for 1 minute 50 seconds and it makes just enough for me. The boxed stuff made too much and I figure it was about 1/4 cup. The instructions say you can use more than I do. The popcorn comes out fluffy and I spray some oil on after it is popped and sprinkle on Molly McButter and some popcorn salt and delish. I use the oil so the seasonings stick to the popcorn. Great buy........
This is a great microwave popcorn popper. Easy to use and you can choose to use oil or not. Popcorn comes out tender and delicious. The price is very reasonable, and bowl has many uses other than just for popcorn. I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.
Very sturdy bowl, not cheap material. Pops perfectly every time. Says 2-4 minutes. 41/2 is perfect with no burning. I do with zero oil.
Love that this product is BPA free. Durable item prepares popcorn easily and quickly without oil and no paper liner needed like other brands. Practically no kernels unpopped. Very happy with this purchase.
I am very happy with the performance of the Nordic microwave, popcorn popper, but thought that the shipping costs were higher than need be.
I like it but the lid doesn't fit snug. Maybe just this one bowl?
