Norpro Reusable 10" Pie Crust Shield, Inch, As Shown

Had I physically bought this in the store I would have been able to see how easily it could be damaged. Instead I purchased this online and it was shipped. Unfortunately, it was packaged carelessly with no dunnage in the box. The other items did their damage to it. Thankfully, because it is aluminum, I was able to straighten it out for the most part and still be able to use it. When I did, it seemed to work fine. I made a quiche recently and used it to keep the crust from overcooking and this item worked well. My recommendation - do not have this item shipped! Buy it in the store.

This product is absolutely the best for keeping your pie crust from getting too brown or burning!! There is no other that can beat it!! Trust me, I have been using these pie crust protectors for 40 years.

This Norpro 3277 10 inch pie crust shield fits my Anchor Hocking 9 inch glass pie plates. The outside diameter of the pie plate is about a sixteenth of an inch smaller than 10 inches with the inside diameter at 9 inches. The Norpro 10 inch shield measures 10 inches inside diameter, so it fits the pie plate. I've baked two pies since I received the shield (it came earlier than its scheduled delivery date!), and the crust was properly and nicely browned to a nice tan color. No dark brown tasting burned. The shield is so much easier to use than aluminum foil: Just pop it on the unbaked pie and slide the plate into the oven. The shield is easy to clean -- if it even needs to be cleaned. And it can store right on the empty pie plate in the cupboard. I've used a 9 inch shield for years on frozen Marie Callender pies, but needed a larger shield for my own confections. This Norpro 3277 works perfectly. I see lots of pies coming this fall and winter from my kitchen.

I like that this pie shield is sturdy enough not to break and is reusable so i don't have to use up any foil wrap.

cheap like a disposable pie pan. Dented up and wrinkled. It'll work but waste of money. Next time I will pay more for a reusable/more durable one.

can't use with my 9" pies...not adjustable. a pain

Cheaply made. Cheap tin bends easily. I should have read details closer. Only one for $11.99. will go back to using aluminum foil
