onn Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Blue Switches and 16.8M LED Lighting, 104 Keys

This review is HIGHLY qualified by the phrase 'for the price'. That having been said, here goes. This mechanical keyboard is absolutely amazing. I like it so much, I keep re-buying it every time I break the old one. And that--how often I break it--happens about half as often as other cheap keyboards, so another plus. FOR THE PRICE, this is a great keyboard. However, if it went above $39, it's unlikely I would buy another one.

Colors are great and can easily be changed with 2-key combinations made on your keyboard. I like the included magnetic rest for your palms. Keys sound similar to and about as loud as an old fashioned typewriter, but the timbre is plastic not metallic. In an office of multiple people this keyboard would be a show stopper. But in your home office, you might rather enjoy the click-clack of the keys. Just don't type while others are trying to sleep, unless they're into keyboard ASMR.

Had one prior to this purchase that lasted me two years of abuse. i stream on aver 60 hours a week on twitch and can fully say its a great deal for the price.

I like that the LED display is controlled by the keyboard and not problematic software. The less software I need running the better. I bought this as an impulse buy one day while doing shopping at Walmart. I felt a few keys through the packaging and they felt nice to me. I got it home and decided I loved the feel of the keys. I like hearing the clanking sound that tells me each key has been pushed. The waving illumination is pretty to look at, but the feel of the keyboard is dynamite. I went to buy another at Walmart a month later for another computer at home and it was not longer sold. I bought it by ordering it on their website. I am glad I did. It is inexpensive and has a great feel for me.

I was excited to try this ONN gaming keyboard as I loved the look of the lights. I'm currently using it for my laptop that has a few keys that don't work. What I love most about this is that not only can you select the lights, but you can also make them move with options like 'breathe' or 'wave', etc. I just love it. The only small tiny complaints I would have is I wish it rose up higher off the desk (using the lifts doesn't lift it much higher than keeping it flat) and I wish it wasn't so loud. I live alone but it might get annoying if you type fast like I do. Over all I still love it. Enjoy!

While I am not using this as a gaming keyboard it works really well as a traditional keyboard. It was so easy to set up and even has a few fun tricks. I have a curious two year old so whenever she is around we turn the light feature off so it looks like a normal keyboard and doesn't attract her to mess with it. Just as easily, you press a few keys and the lights are back on. There are so so so many different light settings, it's really amazing. My favorite is the rainbow ombré where it just goes in and out with rainbow colors. But you can set it to like a burst mode where when you press a key colors burst from that key pressed. The noise the keys make is a much louder click than a normal keyboard, but that must just be a gaming keyboard feature because I have seen that before in other stores. I think this is such a fun keyboard that just adds something different to your normal, mundane computer. While totally unnecessary for me, since I'm not a gamer, it is really fun to mess with and have a little light show.

*Onn. RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard* I am like a kid in a candy store with my new Onn. 104 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. I have never had a gaming keyboard before because they are just too expensive for my budget, and I have simply learned to live without one. Now I am trying this one out for the first time. I open the box and am in awe of it. Its clicky keys are music to my ears! I haven't heard a keyboard with that sound in literally decades! I always loved the sound of the clicks of a keyboard instead of a soft no-sound keyboard for some reason. *Installation* It comes with an Installation CD, but I just plugged it into a free USB port, and it was detected and worked with my Windows 10 O/S. I am using this keyboard on my Aspire M Core i5 Laptop at the moment as my desktop is down waiting for repair. If your system does not detect it, I would recommend using the the CD or download the drivers. I have a USB DVD RW-ROM in case I need to do things such as this. Since I have never used one of these keyboards before I am having to use the instructions to see what all it can do. *This Keyboard Can Change Background Colors!* This is so cool! When did they start making keyboards with background that could change colors and even breathe? Lol Program these Key Sequences at the same time for how you want your background to look: FN + INS = Breathing (It pulses in and out with different colors) FN + PS (PrSc) = Full Lightening (changes solid colors) FN + HM (Home) = Radar (colors goes around keyboard in a circular wave) FN + END = Wave (Colors waves from left to right) FN +PD = Ripple (Colors Ripple Effect) You can also Increase or Decrease brightness by pressing FN + Up Arrow or Down Arrow and lock it by FN + Windows Key. This toggles it to lock or unlock. *More Functions for the Gaming Aspect* To actually program the macros for gaming, you'll need to install the software at this point. The first thing I did was insert the CD into my DVD RW Portable USB Drive and Clicked on the Onn Setup.exe file on the CD. It will create its own subdirectory under Program Files under \Onn. Make sure the Onn keyboard is connected. Click the Onn. Short Cut either on the Desktop or in the Start Bar, and the programming area is at your finger tips! In Assigned GM (Game Mode), you can save the settings of the macros, colors, and sensitivities. There is a GM Library too where up to 12 sets of Game Modes can be created. You can also switch between Assigned GM and GM Library Game Modes. There are five sets of Preset Game Modes saved on board the memory of the keyboard. The current mode can be used with another PC without the software. Macros can be made with this software, but I should warn that it also comes with mouse software and really you should have the mouse that goes with it to fully complement the software and keyboard and fully explore the power of the Onn. gaming realm. Together, it would be awesome! This software can be updated and SHOULD be updated to ensure you have the latest versions to work properly. The update site is in the instructions to get the latest software. *Conclusions* I recommend the Onn. RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard especially for beginner gamers with not much experience in programming keyboards since it was fairly simple for me to figure it out the first time. I had a lot of experience with macros in the business world, but I never really cared about using them in my gaming style, but I can see where it could be helpful with some repetitive things on many games. I, on the other hand, could just “Ooo” and “Ahh” at the colors of the changing keyboard lights all day long! lol

I have cataracts and have trouble seeing the keyboard, so having a "tactile" keyboard is important, and this keyboard is VERY tactile, the keys are well separated with lots of travel and a satisfying "click'. I also bought it because I thought having a lighted keyboard would help with my poor vision, and it does help very much. My only disappointment was with the instructions; they were too tiny for a vision challenged person to read, and they weren't clear on how to change the color of the keyboard lighting. The app you download is also confusing, and I can't figure out how to turn on all three colored light emitting diodes simultaneously for maximum brightness and had to settle for turning on just the red light emitting diodes.

Buy something like a Redragon online instead. You'll spend less money and get a better board. The switches on this board are NOT replaceable. They are very clicky, with an inconsistent sound and feel. The design leaves the switches very exposed to dirt and debris (most boards have their switches slightly elevated for this reason, this one doesn't) so I doubt this board will last long. I used it for one day and ordered a much better Redragon from the rainforest for less money (elevated and replaceable switches, better lighting, programmable hotkeys, detachable cord, and software that doesn't make you wonder if North Korea is hacking your PC).

The included wrist rest is very nice but the clicking noise was extremely loud. IF this is all you can afford it's okay, but I'd recommend the one without the .. clicky keys.
