I have three of these and the wifi bridge. We use it with hoses at our lakehouse which is too rocky for a sprinkler system. Works great! You can program the zones to go off at different times (important if your water comes from a pump like ours) but let the Smart Watering feature figure out how much to water based on soil and plant type. It does a pretty good job of avoiding excess or runoff by splitting the water cycle up and letting the soil absorb the first part of the cycle. Her tomatoes are huge with fruit already so it seems to know what it is doing.
This device works beyond what I purchased it for, which was to scare away ravens from my bird feeders without having to open my front door and shoo them off. The app is easy to install on my phone, the device only requires 2 AA batteries, and so far performs wonderfully.
This hose valve timer is very helpful with watering chores. Just set it up to water once twice or three times a day or whatever interval you think the plant needs, Also water daily or every other day, whatever you might need, a real time saver!
I love the use of this water hose timer that integrates with our B-hyve system . I can view and/or adjust the timer from the app. So easy.
So far IT JUST WORKS. scheduling was easyish and it will even tell you how much water will be/ has been used.
I read reviews on how hard this app is to work with its not it was an easy set up with no problems works well
The units work good so far bought 4 live in the desert on 5 acres just the app or software control is daunting. I would have like the system to operate together instead each unit on the system operates as a seperate controler ie figuring out water schedules is a pain. Calender function you cant wiew all the controlers on one page and plan how you want it to operate as a system with one water source
Buyer beware. This device only works with the older version of the WiFi Hub. You either need the older Gen 1 hub Part number 21005 or buy the B-hyve XD. I learned this after hours of trying to make it work. I will likely abandon Orbit since it looks like they build in some obsolescence in their development path between devices still being sold. Not Walmart's fault.
When it can connect it works great. However it does not connect to Bluetooth very well and defeats the purpose of having to run around the hose and turn the hose on. Maybe with the hub it would work better but I would not recommend this unit.
Doesn't work with low pressure gravity feed water tanks. Not mentioned anywhere and their customer service didn't know either. Returned to Walmart in Hardeeville.
