works amazing everytime i buy a ice cream scoop it breaks not this one tho!!!

I'm glad you asked for review. Blended so seamlessly into my utensils, I completely forgot I ordered. We use often.

In between handle and scoop there is lever which releases ice cream from scoop. I think Oxo changed it from metal to plastic that's why I am deducting one star from reviews. In picture they show metal clip but what they sell has plastic clip.

I have only used it twice, I will be happy for it if it last more than three months

The problem with this ice cream scoop is that the swipe mechanism in the stainless-steel scoop is activated by a thumb lever that operates a gear, and that gear is made of plastic. My scoop got locked up the very first time I tried to use it. If the gears were made of metal, I believe it would have performed much better. Now this is very unusual for me to make this kind of review on an OXO product. I have purchased several things from OXO and have come to like what they make so much that I actually search out their name when hunting for things, as I actually did with this item. This is this first negative review I've ever made towards an OXO product, but I need to be honest with what I experienced. If you do a magnified view of the ice cream scoop in the photos provided on the Walmart website, you can see the plastic gears I'm referring to.

The edges are very blunt %26 thick so it's impossible to scoop ice cream that's even a little hard. We kept having to revert to using a regular spoon, which scooped way better than this scooper. The trigger got stuck often. Completely broke after owning it for 2 months. Rarely used in those 2 months as it was so difficult. Waste. Don't buy.

Bought it with high expectations having used other OXO products. This was a disappointment. Did not work for cold ice cream at all. It wouldn't work to scoop or drop out of scooper. The release lever is not strong enough either. Disappointed!

Worked ok for the first scoop of ice cream, then the lever that helps release the ice cream messed up qnd ended up breaking off completely. The handle and the thumb lever is nice, but overall the quality is a no for me.
