i make over 5000 cookies each year. oxo brand is the only brand that holds up! the grip is comfortable akd the sizing is great. my favorite scoop.

It's hard to write a review for this since it will be for a gift. It looks like it's a decent one though. Don't feel right giving it 5 stars since it may just fall apart the first time you use it.

If you need a scoop for unchilled dough this would probably be fine. The mechanism was not sturdy enough for chilled chocolate chip cookie dough. I bought it because my 20 year old pampered chef scoop finally gave out while I was in the middle of baking. This OXO scooped two - TWO!-2!- cookies before the mechanism cranked itself to half way and I had to use the dreaded two-spoon method. Eventually, I was able to force the scoop back to its intended position. It'll just be for softer doughs. Back to my scoop search. Really disappointed since I have other OXO products that are real work horses and I love.
