This is a great tent. Set-up isn't a breeze, but it's not hard. The first time I did it, it took me about twenty minutes (instructions are stitched into the carrying case). Once I knew what to do, it took me about five to ten minutes, depending on conditions. It's a lovely tent. It's actually pretty spacious inside; it could go over a picnic table with room to spare. Ours at present has four Adirondack chairs and two side tables in it. You will need a mallet to stake it down. And you should stake it down; it stands fine on its own, but more than a light breeze and it's liable to to blow and move, maybe even blow over. Note that if you put it up on concrete or a big deck or something, you will want to figure out some way to anchor it. It has ropes on each corner that you can tie off to something to help with anchoring. When you do stake it down, don't stretch the poles out as far as possible; leave some slack in them so you can zip it all the way down (if you spread the poles out too far, the zipper can't go all the way down). Minor negatives, but nothing big: the screen can be a little hard to see there; if you're trying to watch your kids under the shade of the forest, you might have hard time making them out. It also can actually get pretty warm under the tent in direct sunlight. It isn't water proof (it's a little water repellent), and it warns as much. It'll work fine for a bit, but don't expect it to function like a tarp. The screen goes the ground, and does a pretty good job is minimizing open spaces. Of course there are going to be some with any tent, but this one is pretty solid. All in all, this tent is fantastic, especially for the price (a shade under $100 at the time of this review). Great for camping, for gatherings of maybe a dozen people or less. Ozark Trail did a good job with this one.
We haven't set ours up yet but I watched my moms survive a severe thunderstorm while our aluminum pop up got destroyed! This little guy was blown right to the ground and popped back up with no damage as soon as the wind and hail died down! Lightweight, easy to move and durable! Highly recommend!
We bought this for a beach trip pretty easy to put up but putting it back in the bag was a little tough. The size was great for what we needed definitely can't wait to go camping with it
The price was okay for what it is and what I was going to use it for. I wish the instructions showed step by step pictures of putting it together. It took me a bit to figure out how to get it assembled. It does have a flaw in the netting but I can hand sew it if necessary.
Since too many hungry animals keep roaming around, we made a diy cat enclosure, adding a door, to keep our cats safe while we swim/float in pool :-) Since there is no bottom to this, we put pots filled with dirt all around sides on bottom ends of tent, with cardboard, and tarps under sand, so our cats can't escape, and rodents can't get in. Hope to plant some catnip, and other plants in pots soon, too. Thank you Walmart for another great deal!
The tent is large and relatively easy to put up but it is very flimsy. Without the anchor lines the slightest breeze will twist and collapse this tend. With the anchor lines staked down it does a little better but still starts twisting and trying to collapse at winds less than 10mph. Nice idea just not very practical for actual use.
It was easy to set up and had decent space inside. I did like the tarp flaps along the bottom edge. It did NOT hold up against any strong breeze at all. It would immediately begin to collapse in on itself, even completely staked down. One of the poles snapped and we returned it.
Easy setup on the beach with two people. NOT waterproof, but you can Scotchgard the top to get some rain protection. Do not leave it set up without the corners being tied off with the provided safety
This tent/canopy did its job. I tested the product before heading to the beach. That's when i learned that you need to extend the legs as far as you could to make it work. Once at the beach (Venice, CA), I set it up with no problem. but the wind picked up around 4pm, that's when the legs and the joint started to flip and buckle in. I had to readjust the support ropes so it is towards the wind and support the legs. That's when the tabs started to rip (just a small one). the next day, we went to Laguna beach. that area has policy of not allowing tent higher than 6ft and not wider than 9 feet x 9 feet. so obviously, this tent was useless at that location. But the following beach, the tent started to rip further and the winds kept on knocking it out. it was a one-time use. For the value, it was worth it. but look for other product or brand.
Whoever use this before me left sand in this thing. i thought i was going to have a successful tent barbecue in my backyard. someone used it and returned it then it was sold to me as new. NOT HAPPY
