I noticed a lot of the reviews on here are from people who don't do much backpacking so I'll give a shot at it. The packaged weight of the tent is 7.6 lbs which sounds like far too much for a backpacker at first. Out of the bag, yes, it is too heavy. With less than $30 though you can replace the heavy and bulky fiberglass poles with lightweight and quality aluminum poles. This increases the rigidity and feel of the tent substantially and likely saves at least a pound. The included stakes are very, very thick and heavy steel ones. They seem very durable but for $10 at Walmart you can replace them with ultralight aluminum stakes that weigh practically nothing. I wish I had a scale with me so I could accurately measure the new weight but I'd estimate it between 5 and 5.5 lbs. This makes it comparable in weight to tents that cost hundreds more. I haven't weather tested this tent much yet but I will update this review when I do. I don't foresee any leakage problems but it never hurts to seam seal and spray a waterproof coating on. I've had really good luck with far cheaper Ozark tents in the rain and I don't see this being any different. I love the overall design of the tent. It feels super roomy inside and as a 6'3” large male, there is plenty of room for me and my significant other and our sleeping pads. The tent is also quite tall and there is plenty of room to sit up and move around. The colors are rich and look even better in person than on the website. This seems like a great upgradable tent for beginners or those on a budget. I hope some more attention from youtubers or bloggers comes to this tent because it really has potential. It's definitely worth the price and I hope it breaks down the barrier for more people getting into backpacking.
As-Is weight it's too heavy for backpacking unless your 1 wants to carry the poles and stakes. The poles are a little over 2lbs, and the stakes just ovber 1lb. Replaceing the two long poles with 3.7m aluminum ones, and getting 10 aluminum stakes will bring the total weight to 5.4 lbs in my case. Around $20 for the poles and $6 for the stakes is a solid investment if you are going for budget hack backpacking. Tent sets up incredibly fast, requiring no footprint thanks to the tarpaline-like floor. Interior has plenty of room but I would avoid any sleeping pad/mattress over 5" in height. Full size is a perfect fit or two Large sleeping pads will also work. Has a door on each side so it really does honor a 2 person solution. The fly adds plenty of storage space on both sides, and can be folded back in good weather. Couple last thoughts, I really appreciate the tents zipper not having any kind of flap so it opens and closes with very little effort. And if I replaced the smaller 3rd pole with Aluminum, it would probably take it down to just 5.1 lbs maybe less.
Soo fun!!! Ok let me start by saying I have never actually been camping in the woods... but backyard camping and living room camping has been super fun with my lil ones! Not being an experienced camper this tent was super easy to set up. Once reading the directions it was up in under 10 minutes. This Ozark Trail two person tent fits just that or in my case 1 adult an two toddlers! Lol It is around 7 ft in length by 4 ft wide. (Give or take a few inches.) My 6'3'' husband can lay with a little room left at foot and head..It will fit a full size inflatable mattress. This tent seems very well constructed and comes with a rain fly to keep you dry from weather. Nice ventilation with windows and pockets elevated for storage to keep keys, phone, etc dry and safe off the ground. We are looking forward to our first trip to the woods. I am super happy with this tent and can see using it for years to come!! Would definitely recommend!
extreme value. easy setup, double wall, rain fly, fullsize mattress fits,
Many tents are rated based on their internal dimensions, but this one is rated differently. It is rated for 2 persons, however 2 adults could pretty comfortably sit inside this tent. Me and the girlfriend could fit inside with room to spare, but 2 adult males could fit in a bag easily shoulder to shoulder. If you had an adult and their child, this would be more than enough room. The heaviest part of this tent was the 9 metal spikes, but if you're super conscious about weight replace them with plastic spikes (at your own peril). The bottom feels like a tarp material and the top feels like a regular breathable tent material. There are 4 interior mesh pouches large enough to put a cell phone in, and some nylon straps to hold your camping materials like a heater, lantern, and anything else you want from inside. outside there are enough toggles and straps to hold whatever you want to your tent. While it is a little chilly where I am to set up a tent outside, I feel this is sufficient a tent for most campers with a sleeping bag and a little know-how. it folds up quite small, however the metal spikes do add a bit of weight. Not a big issue if you're just headed to a campsite a little ways from the truck. I didn't set it up outside, but I did set it up inside with the girlfriend to enjoy some comfy camping. I know I'll put some use on it in better weather than a cold winter.
I love this item I got I can go camping anytime Great fast service at Walmart I love shopping here at Walmart
Over all a good two person tent with doors on both sides. It's definitely a backpacking tent. Far to big to put into a backpack. Good for car camping though
Rain fly needs to be bigger.
I love how spacious this is for two adults. I'm 5'3" but my husband is 6'. He was able to sit comfortably in the tent (obviously not stand), and we still had room inside for blankets, four pillows, toiletry bags, flashlights, snacks and drinks, and small electronics. The flooring material is thin, so I worry it'll tear soon, but other than that I'm very happy with the quality. I also love how easy it is store. It's very forgiving. A lot of tents require very particular folding or else they won't fit back into their carrier bag, and it makes for a huge hassle come put-away time, which is the most un-fun part of camping. But this tent folded up just fine with all its accessory bags with a little room to spare.
for the price it was great it took a little think and moving around to figure out without having any instructions with it
