This is really nice pack for the price. It goes from standard size to huge once you open up all the bucks and pockets. It seems to be made pretty well, there are metal slats inside and a stiff frame. There are so many pockets, so pay attention where you put things or it might take a while to find them. I really like the zipper that fully opens up the pack to access the whole inside. It would have been nice if it came with the water pack, but this is something I'll have to buy separate.
lots of space and made really well. straps are very sturdy and it held all my gear. I like the option of the detachable sling bag for taking items if u want when u leave camping. it hauled all my gear for my solo backpacking trip and has nice options for hanging extra gear from the outside just buy some carabiners. the bag is a bit heavy when empty but overall for the cost and options I think it's a really nice bag. makes backpacking affordable and I'm glade to find many Ozark trail options as I start to get into backpack camping. 6'4" male.
The top compartment holds a decent amount of equipment and clothing. The bottom compartment holds a full size pair of boots (size 13). The straps are comfortable and the pack itself wears balanced on me. Its very good quality. It was well worth the cost.
Lots of storage and has a very nice modern look to it. Feels very durable with removable metal rods for added stability and comfort. Convenient pockets on the waste strap for items you need to be able to get too quickly without having to take it off. I can fit a large 4 person tent, a self inflatable sleep pad, large 18 Asus inch laptop, meta quest 3 with large clam shell case and some clothing into this bag with no problem.
I absolutely love this hiking back. The fit is great and can be tailored to your height and weight, and this bag has so much storage room as well. Seems very durable and versatile. I absolutely am in love with this!
This was a gift for someone so I can't say for sure to how good it is and they haven't used it on the trail yet. Just looked it over on Christmas and liked how it overall appeared
Seems pretty sturdy mostly. I wonder about the stitching though...under heavy load. This IS a 60 L so...should hold weight AND stay together. I bought a separate heavy duty sewing kit just in case. (Don't want to be out in the bush with a broken strap.) PLENTY of pockets. HAS LOAD LIFTERS!!! (It's not mentioned in the listing and photos didn't show well.) Hoping that the plastic buckles hold up well and don't snap. (I think generic replacements should fit.) If you get a year or two out of it...you're still saving money over a bigger outfitter brand. Minus 1 star for NO water bladder. I know, it wasn't mentioned but still. I'd pay $10 more to have it come with it. Still solid though.
Volume is not optimized. High capacity. Know your weight limits, just because you can fit many things and heavy things doesn't mean you should, Look up "backpack weight guide".
This is a great pack, it's made sturdy and of great material. Not going to rip easy or get a hole. I am actually looking into buying the same one for my son
I generally like Ozark Trail gear quite a bit, especially when you know which items to grab. My bike and my tent both punch well above their price range, so when I needed a hiking backpack I figured this would be another win. It wasn't. The quality just isn't there on this one. I took it on about 5 miles of hiking and three camping trips with no hiking, and the stitching on the straps already started coming apart. I bought it last season and only used it through one summer, so I figured I'd be covered since we were well under a year in. Turns out this backpack has zero warranty. Once you're past the 90 day return window, you have no options. What's strange is that some of the cheaper Ozark Trail packs come with a 3 year or even lifetime warranty, but their top of the line bag has none. There's no Ozark Trail website to reach out to either, so I contacted Walmart support. They gave me a reference number and told me to bring it to the store. I did, and the store had no clue what the reference number was. After talking to the employees and a manager, I figured out that even if the bag did have a warranty, it wouldn't matter because they kept insisting Ozark Trail is a third party company that handles its own warranty support. I asked for a number to contact Ozark Trail directly, since searching online just pulls up a bunch of fake sites that have nothing to do with the actual brand. When the manager finally found a number (which she also had to look up online), it was the exact same Walmart support line. They eventually agreed to take it back and swap it for a new one, but they asked for my ID to do it. My guess is they processed it as a no-receipt return rather than a warranty replacement. This wasn't the quality I was expecting from Ozark Trail, especially given how hard they've been pushing to position themselves as a credible budget camping brand. More importantly, this wasn't the customer support I was expecting from Walmart. If you're buying anything Ozark Trail, expect zero help at the store past the 90 day return window, and expect to be treated like you're trying to pull something just for asking about a product that fell apart on you.
