Packs a punch! I did not expect this to work as well as it did for small limbs %26 branches that I couldn't snap on my own while camping. I recommend for small jobs if u need something easy to pack!
It worked well. I've only used it to cut two small limbs so I can't talk about how long it lasts, but it is a good tool to drop in your pack to use in a pinch.
this saw is perfect for motorcycle camping. it takes up very little space in the saddle bag
Will cut through 6 in log in a minute. Works better with one person on each side.
Ozark trail never ceases to amaze me!
I haven't used it and hope I don't have to. It lives in our emergency pouch with Mylar blankets and such for family hiking/backpacking trips.
great alternative for someone who os yoo young or too scared to use a chainsaw. My 9 yr old daughter went to town sawing small branches for a campfire.
Bought this as a backup option for procssing smaller wood on our camping trip, my kids and I used it a few times and it worked OK. Definitely cuts the wood, but not super fast, and has a tendency to bind up on larger pieces of wood. On the second day of our trip, the wire caught on something and broke in the middle - so it didn't last very long at all. Given the inexpensive cost, it isn't a bad thing to have along on a backpacking trip since it is so packable and light. However, it isn't likely to last super long.
We had a tree come down in a storm, so perfect opertunity to try this out. Yes it actually does saw. While fairly decently, it will bind. Especially on dry dead wood. As a result of binding I found you can't pull hard on this or it could break. However I would recommend this ad a just in case, pocket, backpack or glovebox. It should work nicely on green wood or smaller branches. As a just in case it would be worth having along. It does actually work, but prepared for a little effort. Would make for a good cardio workout too. It's not fast, but it does work.
I held this around a branch and as soon as I started to pull with a sawing motion, it wire rope completely broke in the middle. I didn't even pull on it hard. I didn't even saw it to see how it cuts because it broke immediately. It looks and feels cheap. You are better off using a pocket knife or breaking a branch with your hand. This thing is so pathetic and I don't see how it has a high rating. Very impractical and cheap.
