It has been far too long since I've had a proper instrument, finally the wait is over. I'm just a regular consumer so I can be brutally honest. The Riffmaster is exactly what I needed in an instrument peripheral after all these years. It feels near identical to the Jaguar, which is the typical Rock Band style guitar I prefer. Pros: - VERY quiet frets and strum bar, which I prefer over the clicky ones associated with Guitar Hero instruments. - Sleek design, full black is simple yet bold. - Analog stick for menus/movement is a great innovation (does not work in Rock Band as it was never programmed to have stick input via guitar, but console menus and Festival uses it well.) - Rechargeable battery FINALLY. Took long enough. - Tilt activation, I haven't had an issue with yet. I've seen a lot of issues posted however. Cons: - Strap placement design, it gets caught on the end of the guitar often which can be super annoying. - No way to turn it off once on?!? If I want to play something else after rocking, I have to completely turn off system or unplug the usb dongle to save the battery. Highly recommend. Hope they add pick guards on the website, since I plan on buying a second and it would be good to differentiate them easier. I also would love to see a bass or drums in the near future.
Solid build quality, Rock Band style guitar with flush buttons and silent (unfortunately) strum bar. Piano gloss black is an interesting choice and gets covered in fingerprints and dog hair easily, but at least it functions well. Natively detected on PC as well but the whammy bar is not functioning on Clone Hero.
I've been looking for a quality guitar controller for a long time. I've had to try and buy a few off of eBay, but I've never had a lot of luck with them working for a long period of time. This guitar feels like good quality, and it's refreshing to have a wireless controller with a long lasting battery. The responsiveness of the controller is good, as long as you calibrate it properly and everything feels good. I haven't really customized any settings, so I don't have much to add about that. I've been able to play Rock Band 4 and it's been an enjoyable experience.
The savior of guitar controllers everywhere. Works as good as a new Mad Catz guitar for ps4 , maybe even better ? Buy it. Just do it
I was a bit apprehensive about this guitar's performance, especially with accuracy, since I have had mixed experiences before. To my delight, with a little sync tweaking, it works flawlessly. I typically played Rockband on Xbox 360, so I am glad this works great with my Series X. The build quality is decent, although I worry about the foldable neck. The weight is good, albeit a bit on the light side. Also, the glossy deck is a fingerprint magnet, and it's already scratched. The buttons are buttery smooth and satisfying. I appreciate the analog stick for navigating. Now, I only need a second guitar and a drum kit. It's been a while, so I've got to practice!
The controller works perceftly as advertised, it worked right out the box even though some printed instructions would have been nice I struggled to understand how to lock the foldable neck from closing before figuring out the qr code is the instructions. gloss finish horrible idea but not a deal breaker for me just a real finger pring magnent. all in all I really enjoyed this over a second hand rockband controller.
Great guitar. Definitely more of a rock band feel then Guitar Hero but I do not mind it. My only main complaint is the fact that it's a finger print & scratch magnet. Regardless of what you're cleaning it with it WILL get scratched like you've had it for years lol
Does exactly what you need it to do. A bit pricey but as there very limited options available makes sense
Its a solid option. Controller isn't perfect though I find using tilt to activate overdrive is incredibly unreliable and is not as consistent as id like it to be. This wouldn't be an issue if the guitar had a button that easier to reach to activate overdrive its mapped to left on the dpad which is just not a good placement. All in all good guitar but its held back by some inconsistencies.
I was excited to get it delivered a week earlier than expected, just to find out they sent me the wrong order that came out as 2 Mousepads for someone else. The sheer disappointment I felt once I opened the box was unbelievable. Customer Service has been fast and detailed which I like but now I have to wait even longer for my actual package.
