I have tried other brands but get my best cornbread from Pearl Milling and their recipes. It used to be Aunt Jemima, and probably a lot of people who would buy it do not know the name change.

Quality cornmeal at a decent price

Maria May 2, 2024

I'm so glad that a Walmart store near us has this cornmeal. After Covid, all the stores' variety of items drastically reduced and the cornmeal that is available is pricey for the size. We use cornmeal quite a bit and like the big bag. I just wish you would sell it in your brand again.

Good product. Beware if being delivered that the driver will grab the first one without checking to see if product is damaged(have ordered three in the past with the most recent being damaged-tear on side) This product gives the most per oz but it carries the risk of getting damaged(in paper not in box as other brand)

Really good

Passingthru January 1, 2024

I was looking for corn meal, not corn flour or corn meal mix and I found it!!!!! Hard to find coarse corn meal in the south because of the popularity of hush puppy mix, corn bread mix, masa harina, corn flour, and similar items. This is coarse, yellow corn meal that you might use to put under bread you are baking or if you want to make a textured, not-sweet corn bread, I like it on fried fish. A lot of corn bread in the south is sweet and fine, like cake, really good, but I was looking for corn meal, This is my first time using this brand and I am very, very pleased. I’m not sure why people would one star the corn meal when they are displeased with a delivery service. This is a quality product, (yellow corn meal) if it is indeed the product you are looking for.

Found the gold at last!

hon May 31, 2026

Some look for plain corn meal cuz it’s gluten free. Others due to no salt and you can decide whatever is healthy for your diet. One problem I see is the expiration date is just six weeks away from today. Cornmeal is supposedly shelf stable, stripped of the germ, so it won’t go rancid. I couldn’t find a label that stated it contained bioengineered ingredients. It’s not stone ground. I did not notice any bug debris or larva in the meal . It looked nicely ground. I make corn bread from scratch in a cast iron skillet. Now instead of the 10 inch size I do two batches in smaller skillets to fit in my air fryer oven. I like a crispy bottom crust and mixing buttermilk into my receipe. Sometimes I use leftover taco meat (add beans or corn or jalapeño to top the bottom layer before pouring more batter toppng the remainder. And baking it all together until cooked thru out. I grated cheddar to melt on the top and bring out the salsa when it’s finished. Maybe a green salad or Cole slaw. I haven’t tasted or used any of the product yet. Remember to add salt as you please. Add baking POWDER to your cornbread %26 if you add buttermilk also add baking soda. Hoe cakes, hush puppies, dressing (stuffing), corn pudding, polenta, mush, fish/seafood breading, muffins , corn bread cake. In the south Thanksgiving gravy was made w cornmeal to thicken the giblet gravy in place of flour.i like the gold color over the white as well as the taste. But I eon’t know until I try the product. When I taste it, it may get the fifth star.

Unhappy customer

Katherine December 1, 2023

I requested to sign for my order, yet the driver just left it at the door and took off. The bag of cornmeal was delivered wide open. This is how it looked when I pulled it out of the bag. Why does Walmart ask if we want to sign for our groceries if they’re not going to let us sign for it.

Arrived Torn Up

Anonymous January 23, 2024

Shippers beware! Item arrived already torn and placed in another bag with cornmeal spilling everywhere. What a waste of money! I need a refund. Disappointed customer.

bugs in cornmeal

black specs throughout bag of cornmeal - delivered today and noted while decanting into airtight container. Not normal, magnifying glass shows them to be insect remnants.
