Pelonis brand is small and reliable. I purchased it to help heat my bathroom during the winter months. It has a vaulted ceiling and gets pretty cool during freezing weather. This heater quickly heats it up to a comfortable temperature and saves on heating costs.
We've enjoyed this heater/fan combo in this compact unit. We've been using one for the last three years. I got another one just incase it might go out and I'll have a spare. They are work horses.
My old one (13 yrs old) could be slightly tilted. This has a safety button that turns it off if it gets knocked over or tilted. It a great little heater for a small space.
I find this to be the perfect small heater/fan. I used one for a year and liked it so well I just got this second one (the first one is still working fine). Note that it's SMALL, not designed for a large area. I use it under my computer desk in winter and ON my computer desk in summer for the Fan Only setting. Saves electricity because it has 3 Heat settings and I rarely need to use the 'High' (1500W) setting; Low or Medium settings are enough when you keep it close (like under a desk).
Five stars for value. It's impossible to say how long it will last. A year? Two? Right now it works great! It's so quiet I can barely hear it when it's running. It has three heat settings, which is perfect because the low setting is adequate for a small bedroom and it keeps from overloading the house wiring.
No nonsense construction means form follows function. And, these little heaters (I got 2) are in fine form. They are so basic, yet they offer everything I need or want. They've got a thermostatic setting and 3 power level settings... 600, 900, and 1500 watts. There's also a setting for fan only. The knobs are large and clearly marked. They are small and unobtrusive, yet I can see that they are packed with all the power I'll need. At less than $13 each, I can't imagine a better bargain. That's why I got 2... and they turned out to be an even better bargain than I had hoped for.
Very weak heater. Even at max settings, it barely warms anything in front of it. The settings knobs are a bit misleading with how they are labeled, but easy enough to make use of. They just do very little good. if you want a desk fan that blows air across you on top of your desk in an office, I suppose this one would be fine for that, but the warmth with the thermostat maxed out is slightly above lukewarm. It is a quiet fan, but as mentioned, this device is a fan that slightly warms the air, rather than a true personal heater or anything similar.
DO NOT BUY THIS! It worked ok-ish, but there was an electronic smell that never went away. Bought it for extra heat bc my Husband is on Dialysis %26 ALWAYS cold! The darn thing stopped working after only usi g a few times. Walmart wouldn't return it bc I didn't have the box. Bad experience %26 total rip-off!
I bought this for under my desk at home and unless your feet are directly in front of it in a 5 inch space, it's somehow COLDER around this thing. It sucks in the air around it and creates a cold wind all around, and in the tiny hot spot it's more lukewarm. Utterly useless and a waste of money. I don't know why anyone is giving this thing positive reviews.
These things are a powerhouse and generate sufficient heat for a 1600 square foot house. 2 in the first floor have kept the home at around 67 degrees in 25 degree weather. BUT...one the 4 I purchased, one of them set on FIRE after about 12 hours of use!!! I was extremely fortunate that I was in the room while the fire started and was able to extinguish it before it could set my house on fire... My 4 year old and I were fairly traumatized by this event and as a result are not using the other 3 that we have in the house. Not sure what to think of these heaters at present and not so sure that risk of potential house fire is worth the benefit of warmth. If using please be extremely cautious and always present so you don't lose your home to fire as a result of use.
