So it does what it says. I've had a few large areas of no grass under under my pines for about 30 years. this stuff is great! some top soil and boom, thick very green grass in a week. I just blow any pine needles out after i mow hoping to make it last. very heavy shaded areas

Finally I've found something that actually does what it says! I've spent so much money on different "miracle" mixtures that all claim to grow grass in the shade... and nothing- literally NOTHING has worked. But this stuff? Yes. Absolutely, 100% WILL GROW IN THE SHADE!!! And FAST too! Our yard is full of beautiful, full trees. So there are some spots that don't have direct light at all. Most only have an hour or so- at most. So our lawn looks like it has mange. But now it's starting to come together! Only thing is that you've GOT to keep it wet the first couple days. I soaked it- not just watered- more like drenched it soggy. And that worked.

Kicking myself that I fell for this. Very little grass seed it's mostly little chunks of mulch. DONT BUY IT, it's not worth it.

It grew in the time it described which was pretty quick. Once it grew about the diameter of a straw and 3 inches high, It stopped growing ! A waste of time and a lot of water 💦. Rye grass would have done better if it wouldn't die out soo soon !!!

Bought specifically for a very shaded area of my yard. Applied as directed and about 5% started to grow but fizzled out after a week or so. The rest failed to sprout at all.

Don't buy unless you remember to keep receipt and packaging because you will need to get a refund; did not work and could not get a refund due to the hoops they expect you to jump through; the refund part is not a Walmart issue, but a Pennington Issue.... never got any grass to grow and watered like it stated

The packaging claims the grass repairs bare spots in 2 weeks or less with appropriate watering spreading etc. I didn't see anything for a month despite twice daily watering. When I reached out to pennington customers service they blamed the spring climate and told me to wait. I waited and it came up patchy under my tree. They then blamed me for not spreading it correctly and I am now outside of there guarantee policy for a refund. Don't buy!

Tried two separate bags 3 weeks apart, watered every day and couldn't get either bag to grow.
