this product is great for either making a gasket or using it to seal a gasket

I used this ultra black to make a water pump gasket for my 1978 Datsun 810. It worked fine, but here are some tips. One: It is much thicker than Permatex No. 1 and No. 2 and therefore harder to work with. Leaving it out in the sun before using it might help. Two: Follow the directions. Especially the timeline. If you don't have 24 hours to do the job, then wait til later. Three: Cleaning your fingers is easy with Gojo and a rag.

Ultra Black RTV sealer works great for valve cover gaskets, oil pan, transmission, diff gaskets. I know people who have used this to make head gaskets on hot engines that last for tens of thousands of miles and counting with no leaks. Also works great for gluing speaker cones to diaphragms!

Not sure what all the hub-bub is about. This product works great when applied as directed. I like it so end of story.

this is a bigger than it looks in the picture. fixed my 99 camry v6 valve cover gasket leak. make sure to allow for curing time of 24hrs, now no oil leaks and engine bay looks like new. saved myself from getting an expensive gasket. follow the instructions to the point and it will do its job.

When I picked up the product, I was given "ultra Grey" RTV gasket sealer. The UPC code on the product matched the receipt which said "ultra black". I have no idea what the difference is. I was advised to get Ultra Black. I returned the ultra grey and purchased some Ultra Black elsewhere.
