There is a learning curve the first time working with it, and I messed up my first cut while trying to get the color thoroughly worked together. The rest went smoothly when you realize that there's going to be some color variation. You literally have a seconds to get it in...but it saved my figurine.
Great product! The metal sealant worked perfectly for my leaky faucet. The SteelStik metal sealant offers exceptional durability and protection against moisture and expansion – vital qualities when safeguarding your property's structure, particularly in areas exposed to environmental influences. Its robust adhesion ensures a lasting solution for long-term stability. A dependable choice for those prioritizing resilience.
I bought this to fix a vacuum cleaner button, but then I got a taste for power. I've since used it to fix a loose table leg, a concrete step, and I'm fairly certain if I used enough of it, I could fuse two tectonic plates together. It's so easy to use...just knead it until it's uniform in color, and suddenly, you have the strength of a thousand blacksmiths in your hands. It cures so hard that I'm pretty sure when apocalypse comes (and that might be soon...oof), the only thing left standing will be the items I've repaired with it. 10/10, would accidentally bond my soul to my toolbox again.
I love this stuff, though I could stand for it to dry just a tiny bit slower. I want to mix the putty well to make sure it holds well, but if I do that to my satisfaction, I have to rush through using it, or it gets too hard to mold into shape. It works on items that you need to look right, again, but I wouldn't use it on something that's going to undergo a lot of stress after the fix. It breaks more easily than the regular JB Weld liquid epoxy does, but it's great for the things I've used it for, like repairing part of a brass decorative item that had snapped off. It sands smoothly, and paint adheres to it. I used some gold foil to cover the area I repaired in a nod to the Kintsugi process for broken pottery and it works well with that. While it dries enough to make molding difficult in just a few minutes, and can hold items that don't weigh too much right away, it does take some time to completely cure, 24 hours, at least. It holds well as long as the repair is not in a place that has to hold a great deal of weight or undergo a lot of stress. I haven't tried it in those situations, but I get the feeling that my suspicion on how well it would do is correct just from handling the material. I've actually had to repair the same item more than once in the same place, it's just an unwieldy protrusion that I'm going to have to be careful where I put it in the future, but that leads me to believe that it won't hold up under a lot of pressure. So, choose your battles, use it where it will do well and not where it won't
GREAT product!! This wizardry fixed the BROKE IN THREE AREAS bike frame of my 16 yr old grandson. That joint that the seat sits and branches out to both wheels and frame. I would think one of the most integral places of a bike frame. I sanded the area down, cleaned it WELL with spray Dawn, then did a good twice over with 99% alcohol. Smoothed it all out to look a least repaired as possible..lol. Lol more sanding with 1000 grit...and was able to even 'match' the wine color with some nail polish and a nail shellac top to prevent chipping. etc. it looks like it never happened AND has held up just as well. We'll see how it holds over the longer terms.
Okay, if you don't want to mix epoxy or you don't have a way to mend metal any other way, this is the way! I bought this in the past and am using it to fill in holes on my boat from other mounting points. The great advantage is being able to pull off what you need, need it together and patch small screw holes and know that it will hold. Once sanded, it is paint ready and the repair is undetectable.
I used it once before to seal the leak on my car's radiator, located near on the top. It lasted until I traded the car. Then I decided to use it to fasten the nut on the bolt that holds the bottom of the rear strut on my 14 year car. It lasted 2 years before it came off. It probably would have held better if the surrounding parts were not rusted, and/or if I used more to enhance the durability of the adhesion. ( used 2 sticks)
Always like to use this product for repairs that involve metal. It is easy to blend, then affix to the project within the drying time. Then, it cures quite quickly. No sticky or liquid mess. An, the product helps save money in the long run - repairing rather than replacing items that have failed in some way. Always appreciate being able to keep things out of the landfill. Mixing was easy - provided one has tight-fitting latex gloves (otherwise, loose-fitting gloves present challenges.) Not sure if the balance of the stick will last now that this project is completed. But, I see no reason that it won't store and be usable later on. Reasonable price.
Would not buy. Does not hold, breaks loose from items you weld. I've used a product called Magnum steel before and it is superior to JB weld. I never had a problem with it, after it cures it doesn't come apart. It becomes like steel, as it should. If I could give JB weld a zero star I would. Very disappointed!!!
Back arrow in walmart app doesn't work to navigate away from this review page. I don't care to review the product for now. I tapped on it because i couldn't see what it was. Now i am locked from going backed to the previous page even though a “back arrow” is present. I tap on it and nothing happens. No more shopping on walmart app today. Going to buy stuff from a place with working back arrows.
