Had a plastic fountain for couple years, time to buy a new and improved foubtain for my cats. They used it from the getgo. Happy with this purchase. One thing for sure.....you better follow cleaning instructions completely. Charcoal filter lasts only 2 weeks so change as recommended, every 2 weeks. Clean fountain ,including taking apart the motor, as recommended...every 2 weeks. You will be glad for this upkeep as it does help with water streaming out.

Cats love it, works great however, it's not a simple matter to assemble and change the filters removing those black clamps that hold the center piece. If you don't have strong fingers, or willing to use a tool can't say I'd recommend it. Also be careful when you remove them because they might break, and I couldn't find replace parts for them.

Not for large dogs. 80% of the bowl is taken up by the center cylinder. Not much room to comfortably drink for my GSD's. Please made a SS version of the Drinkwell 2 Gallon Pet Fountain instead. That works and is fashioned perfectly, other than being plastic.

Very Intrusive in style, color and style. I add fresh water everyday yet it gets a slimy feel to the water still.

Suppose it works fine for what it is, but it's super overkill, and overpriced. The plastic parts on top break easy, and the steel part that sits in the bowl rusted heavy after I stopped using it a few weeks ago. Should just be plastic parts in a stainless steel bowl, and the filter and motor should mount in the fountain part and just sit in the bowl, or whatever other bowl you wanna use.
