Nice doorbell, this is just a standard wired doorbell, it's not battery powered or has its own sound. You have to wire this as a regular existing doorbell. Be sure you know how to install, remove, and replace.

This works great
This doorbell button works with my old battery operated, wired doorbell. It replaces the old button which had crumbled over the years. This new button was very easy to install.

Save your money. Bad design that won't hold up.
This is a fragile design made of brittle plastic. After finagling the wires to run in the only possible way thay they would not interfere with the button or cover, I click the outer cover into place . The bottom tiny thinner plastic catch that is supposed to hold the cover securely in place snapped off. This is what is suppose to hold it with against peoples hands push against the large button.. If tthe body of they catch had been had been wider than the service slot to matches the retention indents in the cover, a fraction of a cent more plastic, it might have held. I had to glue the cover in place. When the glue sets I will be caulking around the cover so hopefully it wont fall off. No more Philips branded products for me.

not for use in dorect rain
it should be clearly stated that this isn't for actual outdoor use. the instructions state its not for use in direct rain. would be ok for a covered porch.

I bought the wrong thing. I thought it made a loud sound. I dont have a doorbell already. I need to return it.
