This was a great birthday gift for my 8 year old niece. I strongly suggest to do this outdoors as it created debris and dust. From my own experience, I recommend wearing rubber gloves and something to protect the eyes. Other than that, very fun, educational, and quality time spent.

This does not at all look like the photo. The photo makes it look like a beautiful geode with more stones inside. This is definitely just painted plaster. The tools that it comes with are standards wood, not super cheap, but also not going to chisel away at the plaster. We gave our daughter screwdrivers to chisel with. Although the gift looks cheaper (quality wise) than the package shows, she still had fun and it's still a nice gift. She loved the stones she received and they were nice quality.
