This was a Christmas gift and the kid loves it gems are nice and activity is fun and it is a learning thing

Kids love it.

This KidzLabs Crystal Mining set is so much fun. You get to actually use tools and excavate real crystals. All the tools are included that are needed. The crystals are of high quality and a decent size, there is even a pouch to store them for later use. I suggest that the plaster block containing the crystals be excavated on a hard surface with a newspaper underneath for easy cleanup. It is so fun to do something hands on with a loved one, the world is so disconnected today. So if you are wanting to create memories with a loved one that will last a lifetime, give this set a try.

My kids loved this. This was a great science experiment here at the house. All three of my kids were able to work on mining out the rocks (including my 5yr, 13 yr, and 15 yr old). They worked together to get the rocks mined out. What I loved: how much they learned, how they worked together, and how much time it took for them to dig out all the rocks/crystals. Cons: there are only enough tools in the box for one kid or "miner." We used other kitchen tools for my older kids to help out. They are also digging in clay/fine sand so it makes a huge mess. In fact it resembles a block of cream cheese when they start. Be prepared!

My little ones are obsessed with mining kits, this one looks like it will hold their attention for an ample amount of time. They love "mining" for gems, fossils and other hidden items. I love the fact that it gets them off the electronic screen and into imaginary play!

Anyone looking for an activity that'll keep your little ones independently occupied This is the best gem mining diG ever... The tool that comes with it has a serrated edge on one side (like a dull butter knife) and a little mallet on the other side. He used it like a saw. The stones themselves are a decent size, about the size of a large pebble or gum all. The box said the block has 8 stones but ours had 10. I'd say it's perfect for ages 5-8.

This is a great toy that I received through Walmart Spark reviewer. Kids can spend hours digging through the rock. My grandson who is autistic finds it very relaxing but also loved that my other grandchildren wanted to help. It is a great way to keep kids busy. There are 8 crystals inside. It comes with a little pouch for storage, once you get the crystals out. It also comes with instructions, a digging tool, a brush, magnifier, and a display case with a cover.

My daughter loves these She enjoys finding them in the block of plaster and she enjoys the surprises she finds I love how when she finds a gem she'll compare in the chart to see what she had just found. My only complaint is the tools aren't the beat but we just use a hammer and it works well and most everyone has a small hammer at home This is something my daughter does by herself, I will lay newspaper down as it can be really messy but she just goes to town chipping away finding her gems. It keeps her occupied for a while. Great toy to keep a child occupied for a bit. This set is of great quality I have no complaints it's one of the better one's we have bought and she enjoyed finding everything. Would purchase again

This was a cool kit, but my daughter had a hard time with it. I'm not sure what the 'dirt' is made of, but it is very hard, and doesnt crumble as easily as we would have liked. I have an inpatient 9 year old, who had a hard time doing this. They give you a plastic knife/hammer that does the job, but only JUST barely. It also makes an enormous mess, so be prepared for that. But we got some really pretty rocks out of it, so that's a plus!
