This is very easy and smells great baking. Finished bread is very sweet and a bit dry (I did not over bake). Reminds me of a Costco muffin. Ok, but not remarkable. I won't buy again as homemade is easy and tastes much better.
My family loves banana bread, but I don't always have time to make it from scratch. I thought we'd try this ready-made dough as an alternative. I won't be buying this again. The bread has a very artificial almost chemical taste to it. It smells like banana bread and it kind of tastes like banana bread, but we just can't get passed that awful artificial taste. I bought two of these tubes of dough within five days of each other. I stored both of them in our refrigerator in the same place. I baked both tubes of dough at the same time, using two of the same pans. One loaf baked without an issue, but the other stayed liquid in the middle. I assume this failed loaf was the first one I bought and had left in the refrigerator for 5 days before buying the second. I took the loaf that baked out of the oven, and continued to bake the failed loaf, but it remained a liquid center and couldn't be eaten. Because of the artificial taste - which is NOT good - and because one of the two dough tubes baked and the other didn't, I will not be buying this again. I will either continue to make my own banana bread, or will buy the ready-made banana bread in the bakery. I do NOT recommend this dough!
I hate to even put this down, because Pillsbury is usually fantastic but this bread is sadly absolutely awful. It doesn't even taste like banana bread, which is not great because I'm really craving some right now. The brand is good, but this product is just not.
Saw these had to try them. The flavor was pretty good but of course will never be as good as homemade. I found that it cooked too much on the outside and it was in on correct temp and for correct baking time I also checked it frequently sticking a tooth pick in to see if it stuck or not. And the inside was crumbly when I cut it. I couldn't even smooth butter on it without it sticking to the knife and falling and breaking apart. I thought maybe it's because I didn't let it cool down all the way but my fiancé tried some the next day and he also said it kept falling apart. Won't buy again for that reason however my cousin got it and said she didn't have that issue so I'm not sure.
If you have this, bake at 325°F, or put foil over the top of the pan. There is so much sugar in the batter, that the bread browns too fast and you end up with a burnt taste. There is no banana taste at all, save money, buy a box mix and add your own spices, or bake one from scratch with real fruit.
Cardboard in a tube. I only gave 1 star because of convenience. I dont understand how some customers said it was sweet. I found it had no flavor, especially banana. This is a banana bread, right? Stay with making cookies.
Took forever to get done in the middle. Turned out dense as a brick, no real banana flavor just overly sweet and weird tasting. I'll just stick to the banana muffin mix because this stuff is really gross
Dough is messy to open and get into pan. Taste is way too sweet and leave an awful after taste, also crumbly. Might be ok for some, but its not as difficult to stir up homemade batter and bake a much better bread.
This is terrible. It doesn't taste like bananas at all, and it has a chemical aftertaste. This is not something you can return for your money back once you've baked it. So I am just out the money I spent.
Did not raste like Banana Bread. it was an earthly, wood like taste. Glad I didn't waste adding any walnuts or pecans so that I got to experience the real flavor. I WILL NOT BUY THIS ITEM AGAIN. And Walmart is not giving me the option to return it since I order all my groceries online for pick-up because I'm disabled. Pillsbury has the BEST pie crust, but this item was terrible. I guess I'll have someone sprinkle it outside for the birds to eat.
