Pit Boss' Freedom Blend pellets are fantastic for grilling hamburgers and hot dogs during the summer. Someone told me pure charcoal pellets burned too hot, so mixing them with another fla or makes sense. I normally associate hickory pellets with a thick smoke, but in this blend, the hickory doesn't overpower the charcoal. The burgers and hot dogs have that charcoal flavoring just like they were done over a charcoal fire down by the lake.

The Freedom Blend Pellets are an excellent mix of wood pellets for the rich smokey flavor plus the traditional chargrilled charcoal flavor that everyone loves with burgers, steaks and hotdogs. I love this Blend, but it is unique. Use it appropriately.

These are great pellets! The cherry pellets adds a nice, smoky flavor to all meats and vegetables. It's definitely a game changer. I'll be buying more!

I've been a Pit Boss guy for over a year. I saw these available during the summer and thought I would give them a try for pellets. The combination of pellets this bag had exceeded my expectations. I used this for just about everything from veggies to ribs, salmon, ribs, burgers, chicken, steak, anything that can go in a grill or smoker; this blend of charcoal and hickory pellets got the job done. I managed to purchase a second bag before they were sold out.

I think it was a good blend. I used it with a bunch of ribeyes and the flavor was great. Didn't burn to fast either.

I made a pork shoulder that turned out great. I just got into the bag but the first cook was awesome. I did use a smoke tube to get more smoke.
