Pit Boss Copperhead 5 Series Vertical Pellet Smoker - PBV5P1

This is the second Pit Boss smoker I purchased. My first was a standard pellet smoker. It was great but got old. This time I knew what I wanted. The smoking area is 1500 sq in, double my old one. I can also see the items being smoked without opening the door, as long as its not smoking up at the time. I really like the fact that there is a cleaning tray . It is so much easier to clean than my old one. I also waited for it to go on sale, I got it for a great price.

Absolutely a great smoker. Just bought my second one. Had the same exact one. Worked great for 5 years until I left it uncovered and it rained. You won't be disappointed!!

Smoker arrived in about a week, very heavy to drag into house for assembly since it cold outside. About two hours to assemble but definitely could be done in less time. A few screws take a little patience to get lined up. Tight fit getting through slider doors to porch. Used three times trying out different meats and fish. I like a big smoke flavor so use maze smoker before turning on smoker. This needs to be on a rack away from heat. Hardest part is getting all food ready then it set and forget. Need to purchase second thermometer as now use in quickest cooking food and then switch as food is being taken out. Definitely a learning curve as it's extremely cold outside and find I need to adjust cooking times and bump up temperature 25 degrees. Not a bad clean up but the time invested keeps smoker looking new and grease free. Maybe would have liked to be able to completely empty hopper of unused pellets. Can get the majority out but need to hand vacuum the remainder. Looking forward to get better, already had all five racks full with ribs, brisket, salmon, lobster, Chilean sea bass and wings. Used smoker with maze smoker to cold smoke salmon. Won't buy store smoked salmon again.

Assembling was No problem… burn off by the book. Tomorrow will be my first smoking.

When I got the smoker it was dented. Called customer service, showed them pictures and they sent out another. Since then it has been VERY easy to use. I have tried many meats and they turned out amazing. I'm a beginner and feel very confident with this product. Great price for what you get!

I have owned other brand name smokers with poor results. What I like about the PIT BOSS smoker I purchased from you is the ability to talk to a person on the phone. They answered any question I had. After receiving my smoker I was impressed with the quality of this product. As a machinist this meant a lot to me. Then after using my smoker I am in love with this thing. The controls are straight forward and actually work unlike other smokers I have owned. Great product will recommend to my friends and family.
